I'm also not 'buying' Viv and the cover up, doesn't chime with what we know of her, I'd rather expect her to get angry, lose the plot and somehow leak it so that he'd get a severe or fatal kicking, before the Police could get to him. Maybe she's going to reveal what she knows only to him when he's abroad on Tour, then he can go on the run, hopefully never to be seen again. Shame we couldn't have got more of the 'case of the week' the various players involved there could have produced some good stuff, interesting characters. |

It's all gone a bit Broadchurch
![]() and as for Viv destroying evidence, just don't buy it ![]() Shame really cos I was enjoying this hugely but I just feel it lost a lot of credibility tonight. ![]() At the very least it leaves Cathy (and to an extent Dinah) in danger so unless Viv is planning on topping him it is out of character for someone in a 'normal' relationship (as has been portrayed - it isn't an all encompassing, obsessive love) who is dedicated to their job and protective of Cathy & her team. Additionally the whole episode I found hard to follow & contrived. Too many 'blink and you'll miss them' type connections ![]() It's been an OK series but hasn't had the strength to be able to fail at the final hurdle and still keep fans. It think this might be it for No Offence. I doubt I'd watch a second season now. Not looking forward to the last episode but will watch just for completeness sake. |

Having slept on it I think Iīm going to give the show the benefit of the doubt and believe that Viv has a fantastic plan up her sleeve and there are more twists and turns to come. At the end of the day she wonīt be able to brush it under the carpet anyway as Cathy knows now and there is no way sheīll keep quiet for long!

Anyone else suggested the serial killer could be Jo Scanlan's husband / partner? There was a funny look between him and Patrick on the stairs and does seem a bit of an oddball. Lost track of time scale but night in a police cell a botched attempt at an alibi?
Good spot Quote:
The guy next door to the flat was playing it at the beginning of the episode, when they arrived to search.
And then she heard the husband playing it. It would have been a huge coincidence if there was no link. I can't remember how they were led to that flat in the first place though. They got to Patrick's address when his car was trashed trying to escape from the warehouse after attacking Cathy. They also new that Killer 2 had visited the flat and removed something which is why they were continually searching it. and it was the only tune his neighbour could play, they were moaning about it doing their heads in whilst they searched - it would have done the same to killer 2. |

Viv destroying the evidence against her husband goes against everything her character stood for - it's not as though they were madly in love and passion overrode everything else. She's not stupid she knows that it's only a matter of time before it all comes out in the wash anyway. Dinah and Cathy are almost there.
This kind of dramatic twist works in a soap but undermines a decent drama. Still looking forward to how it pans out - I never watch the preview at the end of the show! |

I don't think so - I think the doctor had made her husband's life a misery and she was punishing him.

The way things look now after Viv set light to the evidence, she probably won't be in the next series or, at least, keep her job - which is a shame as she's one of my favourite characters.

She should spend serious time in the Chokey. It amuses me that every time they have a briefing it only includes the same dozen people. Are they the only people working at that station.? I often struggle with the dialogue. ![]()

I've enjoyed the whole feel of this show, there's loads of good things about it, but have to say I was a bit gobsmacked that they did actually go down the Broadchurch road last night - and that Viv burnt the evidence, which I just didn't believe at all. Yes, she's heartbroken, but she can't go on living with someone she knows has murdered and will kill again! Ridiculous. So hope she has something up her sleeve. Also think something about the storytelling is a bit off. I still don't really understand how Viv made the massive leap from 'hubbie playing the same tune as Patrick's neighbour' to 'sh*t, my hubbie is a serial killer.' Too many plot points go by too fast, they should take more time for it to unfold. Hope they can rescue it though, because it could be so good. |

very disappointed in Viv last night.
Like a few on here I am a bit disheartened with the 'it's one of us' plot twist too. We see it far too often these days since Broadchurch that its someone close to them. It was funny that Paul Ritter's shambolic police doc was briefly under suspicion given that he had to come briefly under suspicison in The Game recently too. Further proof this kind of plot twist is too popular right now |

Also agree about this episode's case, the story line speeded up so quick after the police got to the sister (and how silly was that running escapade??!) that it was harder than usual to get a gist on what had been discovered in the investigation of it. It took some convincing that this was a programme to stick with it and despite some issues in this one, I'm still looking forward to the last episode next week. I'm hoping Viv will return to the strong character she's portrayed as being. |

I'm also surprised she got so involved with him without checking into his background. It's weird that he faked his own death and then came back and seduced a senior police officer, and even more weird that he got away with it for so long. |

Not much to say about that episode that hasn't already been said.
Pretty much hate the Joy character but felt sorry for her last night. |

I'm mildly surprised he was able to learn so much about police activity. Why would Viv need to tell him the address where that girl was being held, for example? She could talk about her work in general terms, and maybe say she was in a safe-house, but management of detailed info is basic police procedure.
I'm also surprised she got so involved with him without checking into his background. It's weird that he faked his own death and then came back and seduced a senior police officer, and even more weird that he got away with it for so long. Also thinking back there have been lots of times heīs `popped`into her office - supposedly to give her a present or ask her about dinner but maybe he had other motives. Maybe his whole night in the cells was just a way to get into the station long enough to find out what Cathy had told the police .... I canīt imagine she will be able to stay with him ... she couldnīt even bear him kissing her. I think she has a plan but maybe she canīt bear the humilation of the others knowing who he is, so she has destroyed the evidence but will deal with him in her own way and own time ... |

Maybe they'll answer it, and he'll turn out to be a freaky thrill seeker or something, or just thinks he's invincible. It might help if they'd given us any idea how long Viv has known him, or how they met, or mentioned that she'd never met his family. But at the moment, my head is just full of questions. |

Think Viv will have something up her sleeve, as I can not believe that she would let her Hubby go free to do it again. He and Patrick were both killers but it sounds like Viv's Hubby used Patrick as he knew he loved him. He has shown that he is capable of doing horrible things to vulnerable girls. He will do it again. Looking forward to the conclusion next week.
Hope there will be another series. |

Maybe Viv will come back demoted or as a civilian worker who has to earn respect and deal with orders more. I've worded that terribly, I know, but hopefully you can see what I mean.

I don't buy Viv destroying evidence to let him get away. I think she must be doing it for some other reason, maybe to protect people? I reckon he will be done away with but perhaps not revealed as the murderer.
