Oh dear! Just another tedious old, cliched cop show.
I suppose if you like "that sort of thing" you'll watch - and lord knows, there does seem to be an audience for driven, obsessive, unbelievable, crime drama. But couldn't the writer have done something just a little bit different from the jelly-mould "there's been a SPOILER and we are on the clock to stop another one"? After all, he's supposed to be talented. Can't say I'll be spending any more time on this. |

I liked it enough to watch next week, was a little weird in places but overall thought it was fairly good. Best character for me was Ruth, the no nonsense nurse.

I know we're meant to suspend our disbelief when watching shows like this but really!
Twenty minutes in, including and ad break and that was enough of this tripe. |

I enjoyed it and will be tuning in next week. Its just a shame that a lot of the show was shown during the extensive promotion of the show, so we had already seen the majority of the funny bits.

I thought it was embarrassingly bad. Twenty minutes was more than enough for me.

Hmm. A mixed bag. But I like it enough to watch next time. There are plenty of programmes that looked like a load of rubbish for the first 20-30 mins but years later with hindsight people now hail as a classic. This one can still swing either way, could be a dud or could be gold.

The show couldn't seem to make up its mind what it was. Why were they meeting in a toilet? Was that supposed to be funny? If it supposed have a dramatic theme, then the idea that a vulnerable child could live with Dinah was just daft. She wouldn't have offered something she knew was impossible to fulfill.

It didn't quite work for me but I will give it another chance - there was something about it that I found engaging. Not sure what - perhaps the awful humour
Paul Brown describing the missing girl's behaviour was funny But there should have been some pathos to balance it out - the husband was being exploited by his wife regardless of whether or not he enjoyed it. So bits worked but not quite properly.I'm hoping it will settle down given a couple of episodes - it's trying too hard at the moment. |

I'm beginning to wonder what happened after twenty minutes that made so many turn off? Cos rather a large proportion of those who gave up, did so after 20 minutes.
Just a thought. |

I liked it a lot. Quirky, interesting characters while not being totally unbelievable. It was not particularly laugh out loud funny, but there was some funny banter and situations that didn't seem overly forced. It reminded me a fair bit of early seasons of Shameless, not surprising with it being the same writer.
I didn't watch after season 4 or 5 of Shameless as I lost interest in Shameless, I hope I get 4 or 5 seasons out of this. I wonder how many people who liked Shameless liked this and vice-versa? |

I thought it was perfectly fine. It was similar to Shamless' style, which you might expect.
I wouldn't class it as a comedy drama. It wasn't as drab and dour as other cop shows but hardly lol moments, just some slightly OTT lines/scenes. |

The comedy-drama is pretty hard to pull off and this largely toiled for me. Might be worth another chance next week I suppose.

I thought that it was going to be a comedy drama, but it just seemed to be a another dull police drama with a few "outrageous" lines to add a bit of "comedy". Joanna Scanlan's odd accent was distracting, although I thought that Elaine Cassidy's was pretty good especially considering she's Irish, but overall the show gets a thumbs down from me.

![]() I'm still not sure if this falls into that category for me, having not watched Shameless, from the preview I thought this was going to be a comedy-esque type of police drama and found some of the lines from the DI blonde woman funny (I liked her advice on getting up those officers who had called sick that day ) and a couple lines from the older male police guy, but because the first police officer you saw (the one in the back of the cab) seemed to play a normal straight character for the episode, I wasn't sure whether some of the other characters or their dialogue or the plot was supposed to be serious or not. That said it wasn't a bad debut, I might tune it next week if there's nothing better on and the 9pm slot on a Tuesday is usually a quiet one.

Overall I enjoyed this. I like the characters so far and the plot was engaging. The last 15 minutes or so were very fast paced and kept my attention. I didn't find it laugh out loud funny, but there were some good one liners.

I was unsure about this at the start but stuck with it, initially i wasnt going to bother with it again but by the end of the episode something just took hold of my interest and i decided to give it another go next week, not sure what changed my mind but who knows it could turn out to be a good show, if not by the end of next weeks episode at least ive given it every chance.

I liked No Offence and I hadn't thought I would after the trailer.
Fast-paced, good acting overall, a bit rough round the edges. I'm definitely sticking with it. Think it's got potential to be a stayer. |
