Any Nexus 6 owners ?
Looking at replacing my Nexus 4 as I am moving for 4G in a couple of weeks. Toss up between Nexus 6 and Samsung S6. Main uses are GPS, gaming and watching videos.

Only what I've seen in the shops but the Nexus 6 is a monster. The s6 is a far superior phone, if only for aesthetics and usability.

The Nexus 6 is actually very usable as a phone. It's clearly closer to, say, the Note 4 than a GS6 as you'd be buying it for the bigger display (for document editing, video playback etc) first and foremost.

I thought that this topic was going to be about one exploding; http://www.gsmarena.com/google_nexus...news-12120.php

The Nexus is more like a small tablet than a phone. It's flopped because of its ridiculous size as much as its high price for a Nexus.

I think the price was the issue. It's actually a really good phone otherwise. If Google cuts the price, it could sell.
Of course it's not intended for all, and the Moto X might be more practical for most people. |

I don't think the price is too bad actually, obviously above usual nexus prices but around what I would expect for >5.5" displays.
I think it is simply the size and the lack of knowledge outside of tech enthusiasts. Maybe if the Moto X 2014 was the Nexus phone of 2014 it may have had better sales, however it was only a small jump up from the nexus 5 and would not have delivered a reference device for developers to test apps designed for larger screens. |

A couple of people I know have Nexus 6's, they all say it's a great phone. When I upgraded in December it was a choice between that, a Note 4 and an iPhone 6 Plus. The Note 4 beats it in my mind because although it has a smaller screen the AMOLED technology is better and more power efficient and it has the stylus, I did get the 6 Plus in the end though to give iOS a try.
I'm pretty sure when Google announced their results they said that Nexus sales had, fallen, presumably because it wasn't the absolute steal that the Nexus 5 was. |

A bit too big for mainstream and far more costly than any other Nexus device. Always a risky idea, rather than another 5-5.5inch device and similar pricing as the N4 and N5.
I think if Google releases any more stuff, it will drop the prices and know it cannot command a premium. |

Two of my friends have then and seem to be very happy with them. Great screens from what I've seen, looked better than the note 4's I've seen. One also said it was very fast/fluid to use.

My Nexus 5 (despite various Lollipop bugs) still feels more fluid than many newer and more powerful phones. Such is the advantage of an OS that isn't heavily customised and skinned.
The N6 is just the same. |

Bought a nexus 6 recently (n5 had to go in for repairs and needed a phone). Its a superb bit of kit. Front (stereo) speakers are the best I've ever had on the phone and are very loud. Camera is superb compared to the n4/n5, especially in low light. Seemed very big at first but now the n5 seems tiny
![]() Its very much slicker with the latest software than the n5 is. And battery lasts so much longer ...... |

The phone is outstanding, but of course size is subjective and I understand why it puts people off. That, and the price - but you're genuinely paying for a premium phone, as opposed to the Nexus 4 or 5 where corners were cut (although were still excellent phones). |

The N6 is a great bit of kit. I had an extended play with one in the Google shop. If you are happy with the size and don't take photos (the camera is a pos) then it is worth considering. I was tempted myself as I am a real nexus fan owning the first 4. But my hones come with me when I go running so I know it wouldn't be ideal.

Camera is the best on a nexus so far tbh. Its no SLR but I have an SLR for that
![]() The size is the big thing. I got used to it very quickly but I know it won't appeal to everyone ... |
