Brilliant Things Since Live Week
I re-watched #EELive last night and I have to say it was an incredible week, especially the Thursday episodes and the fully live. But, I come on here and see so much negativity about EE, especially critiquing the use of the Carters. But, there has been some really good stuff since the Live week and I feel like we need to remind each other of that. And all this talk about DTC being the 'worse producer' is ridiculous, he has brought the show back to the top of its game after it was un-watchable. It is impossible for the show to be firing on all cylinders four times per week, every week and lets not forget that the Carters actually breathed fresh air into the show when they arrived. Danny is very popular as Mick - especially outside of this forum, and while I agree that the Linda/Dean/Shirley saga is frustrating, its only playing out like this would in real life.
So i'll start... Jim's funereal was beautiful, yet dramatic and classic EastEnders Stan's death episode and the preceding one - very touching Kat's suicide attempt - hard drama but very well performed and now we've got this wonderful Kat/Stacey special tonight. So, don't give up! It was always going to have an impact, having a whole week of lives, but things are definitely on the up now that these episodes are after that and there is some really good stuff coming up.

My only issue with Eastenders is the continuing groundhog day scenes between Mick and Shirley, I still love both characters when they are apart but as soon as they come together along with Dean and Buster it just becomes tedious, I am not saying resolve the rape story yet because like DTC said we know it doesn't happen like that but constant scenes of everyone trying to get Shirley and Mick to reunite and then it falling apart is boring. I'm not that keen on Buster at all really and don't think he adds anything to the story at all.

That's fair enough, I can relate to that. I just think best to focus on the good - some of the posts on here about the show being the worst its been etc. are very silly and OTT.
I'd quite like to see Dean get his comeuppance now or at least just leave for good. I think that would be the best course of action now. |

I think last Friday's sisterhood episode with (Shirley/Tina, Babe/Sylvie, Roxy/Ronnie, Kim/Denise) as well as the Vic almost four hander episode (Kat/Linda/Shirley/Kim) were two of the best performed And written episodes since lives.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Ian and Sharon Sarah Phelps episode. That was a gem.

The rape storyline has kept the nation gripped and been an intricate character study of the resulting psyche of both the victim and perpetrator.
