Do you think we're in for an explosive summer or not? Also, would you like one?

With the ITV soaps now pulling their socks up

Corrie:

Physco Jenny.
Gavin's lie exposed (Lame, but still).
The fire (Another stunt, but could be a big storyline).
Simon abusing Leanne.
Live episode.
Characters death.

Emmerdale:

A big summer disaster?
Lots of other plots going on.

I really hope EastEnders put in some effort this summer, as it would be such a shame to see them fall so far behind again, after the success of live week.

Shabnam's Roya storyline & Kathy's return are the only things with potential ATM IMO.

Why put out your best work in the summer when most people wont watch?

I think it does need a summer story, but keep Kathy for September please.

The Summer shutdown seems to have started in Mid-March.

Maybe if EastEnders put some effort in this Summer, we won't get a disappointing low of 3 million viewers like last year.

Wasn't that against the World Cup?

I think it will be a quietish summer, we will probably have Roya, Sharon's Dad, Paul Coker and Linda having the baby they will keep Kathy till autumn. I know it doesn't suit everyone but I like a quiet summer I always get hooked on Big Brother and I like to enjoy the nice weather which hopefully we will have.

Paul Coker can't be classed as a storyline, SURELY? He'll come on and disappear for months, like his grandparents.

Just because other soaps are doing things doesn't mean EastEnders have to. EastEnders did their thing over Christmas, New Year and Live Week.
