The heyday of Hollyoaks, before it became a stupid, pathetic embarrassment. Particularly 2006/7.

Random EastEnders memories:

Gianni Di Marco and Jackie Owen (Steve's sister) fell down a building site and the collapsing scaffolding was heard into the first few seconds of the credits It's on Youtube.

Irene Raymond called Mary Flaherty a trollop once.

Barry and Natalie Evans (before they were married) visited her mum and sister who told embarrassing stories about her, like when she wet her knickers or something. Natalie throw her drunk on one of them.

Some of the random pensioners who came and went like a revolving: Doris Moisey - the one who tried to have a fling with Jim Branning while Dot was away. My last memory was Dot kicking her out of her house and called her a slut. Lily Mattock - Dot's friend who sprayed her in the eyes thinking it was a burglar. Maureen Carter - Irene's aunt who was really funny. Fancied Roy Evans.

Zainab yelling "Riiickyyyyyyyyyyy!"

Random Neighbors memories:

Drew Kirk falling off a horse the first time and surviving despite looking much more serious than the one where he died.

That pathetic 'explosion' at Erinsborough High which went off in a bin. Rubbish flew out of it and the pupils were running like it was a tidal wave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p4Kki4LfAk

Michelle Ang from The Tribe as Jack Scully's girlfriend. Thought she deserved better than what she got as Lori Lee. Good actress, not a brilliant character.

Darcy Tyler morphing into a criminal.

Toadie walking in on an amputated Paul Robinson and Darcy Taylor and being unsettled at their friendship.

Steve Owen and Beppe saving the trapped people in the wreakage and it then collapsing as they got out and telling the fireman how easy it was after he told then not to go in.

Thanks for a proper reply.

Neighbours

-Mr Udagawa the Japanese business man rarely, if ever seen that Paul and Gail wanted to impress which led to their marriage. He used to be mentioned all the time.

-Helen Daniels' art trips to The Bungle Bungles

- Lou Carpenter being a self made millionaire when he first turned up

- Debbie Martin and Rick Alessi winning tickets to meet Michael Jackson in London. Their parents wouldn't let them go, but Helen pretended to take them on an art retreat. In the end they gave the tickets to a boy who was dying. Unfortunately the story was covered by the media and shown on Australian news where their parents discovered they, and Helen had lied

- Debbie Martin's bulimia storyline

Home and Away
- Carly's twin sister Samantha, both roles played by the same actress
- Sally getting embarrassed when she started wearing a bra
- Sophie and Haydn Ross getting together.

Hollyoaks (2006-2008) - It was amazing in those years and was jam-packed with drama without it ever being too silly (unlike now). The Dog Fire was especially fantastic. The week started with an aerial shot of four or five body bags which immediately built a lot of suspense and anticipation. Sarah's parachute death was shocking and emotional at the same time. The twist and the fall-out was just so sad. Hannah's anorexia was probably the stand-out storyline though. It was really upsetting viewing and the actress was phenomenal.

Emmerdale's had its fair share of great moments too. The storm in the early 2000s where Tricia died was upsetting. Then there was Shelley's death on the cruise, Jasmine and Debbie covering up a murder, Aaron's coming out and Jackson's death.

Eastenders has so many amazing moments. The Danielle/Ronnie climax is up there, as is Zoe/Kat reveal, Kat head-butting Roxy (Zoe's pimp), Stacey's bipolar episode, Stacey and Jean, Lucas pretending that Denise was dead, Stella, Den's death, New Year's Day 2015 episode, Lauren and Lucy going out on the town, Abi telling Tanya, Max and Lauren home truths.

More Eastenders memories:

Two really random Australian women. First Raylene in 2000 who had something to do with either Beppe or Gianni. Blink and you'd miss her as she appeared in like one episode. She said "Ciao stud" to one of them. The recent one was Nicole who Alfie met in Oz, she took his burger van away.

Saskia Duncan scratching Steve Owen's car.

Dot losing her religion one time.

About 9 or 10 years before Ann Mitchell took on the role of Cora, she had a brief role as Roy Evans' former mistress. I think her name was Jane and they had a son together called Nathan. He was slippery as hell.

Sarah Hills joining a cult.

Dawn Swann's first storyline was at the tail end of 2005 and had something to do with getting her boobs done.

Ronnie trying to get rid of Roxy's boyfriend Damian from 2007/08 by framing him for slapping and forcing himself on her. It was all a set up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJqgVi-9_0M

Ethel asking Jeff Healy (Mel and Alexs' dad) about condoms

Syed performing a backflip at his and Amiras' pre-wedding do. I'm not sure if it was a stuntman.

Joe Wicks and the tinfoil incident. That was a really dark and compelling storyline.

Hollyoaks

- When it used to be a running joke about how all the women were blonde. Now the majority are brunette.

- Everyone ate Banana Bongos for breakfast in the days before product placement.

-Bella Manning, the student who pretended to be posh, but was really from a poor family.

-Laura Burns and her obsession with Mandy. The recent storyline with Kim reminds me of it.

- Eve, the student who stole off everyone before her mother turned up at HCC and dragged ger home.

Mo Harris knew a few EE characters prior to her arrival in Walford. Obviously Pat, there was also Ethel and even Carol (while she was off the Square all those years) and she called her a slapper.

1991 - 1994 Neighbours (we were a year behind so for us 1992 - 1995) and you had a great set of characters, adult stories, brilliant incidental music, gripping cliffhangers, and the perfect mix of comedy and drama. Brad / Beth / Lauren, Micheal trying to drive Julie insane, Debbie and Rick, Jim's heart attack, the Lim's eating dog, Toby and Hannah stopping a peadofile, Cameron Hudson being his lawyer, Dorithy Burke vs Julie etc. and the antics of Pam and Doug.

EastEnders 2000/2001 - the best two years of the soap for me since I began watching it in the early 90s. In particular "Who Shot Phil?" was the hightlight and still regard it as my all-time favourite soap storyline.
