I've just been watching the David Tennant episodes where the cybus Cybermen are created, I don't really understand their end game.

Part one of the plan is to transform all of the humans into Cybermen with no emotion. After that then what? Without emotion there is no drive to expand, no drive for technological advancement etc. Also without any more humans, they can't expand their population. I dunno I just see an Earth with a load of cybermen gathering dust as the wildlife reclaims the earth, until just before the sun explodes and they decide to build a ship and leave earth to gather dust somewhere else.

Any ideas what their end goals are?

That's kind of their tragedy. They don't see the futility of their actions.

Objective 1 is to upgrade everyone and survive, and they're so preoccupied with that function, endgame isn't a consideration.

Same could be said for the Daleks.

You're probably right - after all, this version of the Cybermen is the result of a twisted and bitter man working to his personal obsession based on his own weaknesses. Like so many cliche Doctor Who villains, he's willing to trample anyone that gets in the way of his obsession, until that obsession turns around and destroys him, which he's utterly surprised by.

Lumic's twisted vision was to remove illness, misery and suffering, at any cost, but he doesn't seem to have thought beyond that, making this a sort of silver goo scenario.
