They are being shown during every ad break tonight during Britain's Got Talent so TV3 have started their promotion of the show. Nice to see it on an Irish channel.

Wouldn't it be ironic if a foreign country gives BB UK better promotion than it's own.

I was surprised and delighted to see the adverts.

Couldn't for the life of me fathom why BB hasn't been shown on TV3 or 3E before - given that so few people in Ireland have access to Channel 5. I thought it would have made financial sense for C5 to 'sell it' to TV3, and the extra viewers for TV3 would make it money well spent. If C5 even sold it at a knock-down price, it'd still be money in their hands.

But anyway - yes! Big Brother back on 'normal television' in Ireland. I used to be a fan - well, that's putting it mildly. It would be lovely if the new series was a little more like the old days - with more average people, rather than housemates-with-agents. But sure, we'll see, and at least we CAN see, now.

It's only the BB eye with the theme show playing in the background..and it says coming soon. Nothing too exciting!

This may sound dumb, but does Ireland have their own ratings system? So, the ratings won't necessarily increase because the ratings for Ireland will be individual?

Back in the days when this forum would light up like a Christmas tree at the mere sighting of the eye and everyone would be revved up ready for the show

Yeah, there is a ratings system, I think Nielsen and TAM measure them, not 100% though. But they don't seem to be as easily accessible as BARB ratings; it seems only newspapers and TV channels have access to them. The UK ratings won't increase no, the Irish ones will be there in their own right. It will probably give greater accuracy as to the C5 ratings though, as a lot of people watched on C5 before in Ireland, and wouldn't have been included in UK ratings.

Just saw it there now. Actually looks a lot better than I was expecting from a TV3 advert. I wonder was it made by them, or by C5/SHOP.

Loved that little eye flash advert. Reminds me so much of how Channel 4 used to promote BB. Ironic to think a network in Ireland are promoting and treating BBUK better than the channel it's made by.

Very interesting. I wonder if that will be the start of the opening titles this year.

To be honest, TV3 are in trouble. They need to attract viewers to attract advertisers to keep from going under. Rumoured buyers of the network have fallen through of late.

Oh it reminds me of BB1 when mr tk was walking round the roof because it was rumoured that 'english ' telly was available if the ariel was pointed in the right direction! A neighbour on holiday from Sydney walked in, gasped 'is that Anna' and didn't leave for days.
