Tasks we want to see back
With Big Brother 2015 just days away from starting, we take a look at seven brilliant tasks of series past we want to see back this year…
Box task The box task was so simple and on paper it should’ve been really boring: The housemates have to sit in cardboard boxes. The one who stays in the longest wins a prize. Arguably it was the housemates, rather than the boxes themselves, that made this task but it was brilliant either way and we’d love to see it back in some form. Ignore the obvious A more recent task, there have already been spins on the Ignore The Obvious challenge in some series but the original still remains the best and we’d love to see it back. Who knew that watching Marcus Bentley eat a jaffa cake would be so enthralling? Electrocution Having first appeared on Big Brother 9, the Electrocution based tasks have always proved fun but bosses seemed to get a bit addicted to the shock suits, seemingly using them at every opportunity at some points. We want to see the Electrocution task back again but not just for the sake of it this time. Sing ‘em a song Housemates were banned from talking and could only communicate through singing. Cue: Hilarious and fascinating results. Learning first aid WAY WAY WAY back in Big Brother 2 – when the show was still very much a ‘social experiment’ – housemates had to learn first aid. While it was a more serious than fun task it produced some real highlights and we’d love to see it used again. Say yes Another shockingly simple task: Housemates have to say Yes to everything Big Brother asks of them. It gave us poor Alex having to get spray tanned over and over again which was one of the highlights of the series (and arguably the only thing Alex did during her time in the house). alex spray tan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJfAFky7vqs Room 101 Big Brother’s at his best when he’s up to no good and the Room 101 task was a brilliant piece of telly: One housemate had to spend the week completing disgusting tasks on their own under the belief that their fellow housemates – who were actually living in luxury – were doing the same. Poor Maxwell. Read more: http://www.tellymix.co.uk/reality-tv...#ixzz3Z4XnSFr8 Follow us: @tellymix on Twitter | tellymix on Facebook |

Box task - Definitely, that needs to come back as it doesn't eat into their budget
ITO - Done to death Shock task - No thanks, definitely been done to death Sing em a song - Would be interesting as I personally haven't seen that one Learning first aid - Would be good to see them doing something serious and infinitely better than all the eating and gunging ones the YTS people backstage churn out these days Say yes - Didn't see this one as I didn't see much of Series 12 Room 101 - Would be nice and something they wouldn't be expecting |

A lot of these tasks are pointless without Live Feed as you would hardly see any of the actual task on the main show.

Overnight tasks wouldn't work in the practical sense as we would need to see they are sticking to the task and there was nothing untoward going on in terms of them getting outside help or along those lines I would absolutely love to see the tasks go much longer than 2 days and also all of them involved 24/7 so it would give them something to work towards, and not get them in the mindset of "We can still get treats if we fail, we don't have to try really hard" |

It would require the Live Feed for full effect but the Sleep Deprevation task like they had in BB8.
Overnight Nominations, funny nonsensical stuff, Lots of arguments over nothing things...not vindictive arguments as they were too tired to function properly. I think one such example was Ziggy telling everyone he didn't need to talk to the "Walking Catchphrase all F****** Day" in regards to Tracey. |

With the Time theme I'd like to see the staying awake task back always felt it was wasted on the BB8 lot who gave up on tasks far too quickly.
I'm not sure if I'm remembering this from a UK or US series but there was one task where they had to stand on small podiums suspended in the air. That'd be a fun first night task I think let them get to know each other after they've got half pissed on 'champagne' and they're swinging in the air. |

It wouldn't work nowadays with a 43 minute programme. The electrocution task has been done too many times now. The best task was the Army task in BB5, that was hilarious & lasted a few days. That wouldn't work nowadays either, because of the 43 minute programme. |

My favourite was the prison task BB7 but I think the HM's would soon suss it should they do that one again.
Ignore the obvious and automated BB was funny as too was The Tree of Temptation so I wouldn't mind seeing something like these again.. |

I want the tasks to be fun, but to also serve a purpose other than just creating drama. Most of last year's tasks seemed to end up with a housemate (usually Helen) discovering what someone had been saying about her in confidence.

The remote control task was fun, when they had to rewind, fast forward etc.

i just wish we had tasks that focused around teamwork and group bonding rather than humiliating the housemates, electroshocking them, making them dress up in "hysterical" costumes, and playing back conversations to them to engineer conflict.
have them build or learn something together for example. |

Box Task- YES. The most simple task ever.
Ignore the Obvious- I think it's fantastic, but they have done it too much on Ch5, Remote control task is fine I reckon, as it's only been done once. Or the Yes task. Electric Shock- It's been a couple of years has it not? I reckon we should have it. First Aid- I agree, we need that Other practical tasks- like they did with learning stuff, fire, world record task, something where the HMs will feel they benefited from and leant something. Don't get me wrong, I want new tasks, but after like 35 series, it'll be tough to: a) come up with something they haven't done on BBUK b) even tougher, come up with something that no BB across the world has never done. That's why they rehash tasks. |

The box task was excellent but would it work so well with a different set of housemates? It truly was Derek & Science who made it what it was for me

I would love to see endurance tasks such as the Box task (BB5) and the Stay Awake task (BB8). Quote:
The current version of Big Brother is 4/5 years old as it's a completely different show now so remembering events from the proper series wouldn't make sense.

i'd like to see the return of proper 2 day tasks that kept the HMs up thru the night, having to work together to earn their food
i think it was BB1 - the HMs had to cycle the length of britian for one of the shopping tasks and in BB4 they were on a pedalo, (i can't remember how far they had to go) its these kind of tasks that i'd like to see - make em work, its not supposed to be butlins ![]() the box task was one of my favorites and the silent disco from BB7, the electric shock has been done to death but it is still funny i don't like spiteful tasks that are designed just to cause conflict between the HMs |

Any task that lasts for over 24hrs, a 48hr task would be good and new, but would be lost without LF.....
