His pace isn't the problem, the issue is Wenger not reacting to teams intentionally targeting him as the weak link. Rodgers did so in that 5-1 win, and so has Hiddink.

There is no character in this side. No one who makes them tick when the going gets tough. Arsenal will present more openings for Chelsea to score, before they put one in the back of the net.

Apparently Giroud was a doubt before the KO. Still, I would have sacrificed Flamini and adopted a more long ball game with Giroud as the target then Walcott etc to bang in the knock-downs

No complaints with the sending off. We would have expected it if it was one our players instead of Costa. We can still salvage something from this but need to show some gumption, take some shots and just get lucky for once against this lot.

Thierry talking sense - I agree, didn't have to take Giroud off as there were options of shifting players around first.

The thing is if we went down to 10 men against Chelsea in the past, I'd always feel we'd get something out of the game. Lauren scored a brilliant solo goal in the cup years ago when Cygan got sent off.

I don't see much character or drive in this team. Technically as good if not better than Wenger's best teams, but lack that bite or intelligence. A draw wouldn't be bad, but a game that promised so much but falls on empty....typical Arsenal. And what would be more typical is creating chance after chance, making a silly mistake and Chelsea doubling their advantage.

Take Ramsey off. He's done nothing of note so far and keeps losing the ball.

He must go in the summer.

Why are we playing so sh*t? Not like we had a midweek game.

Alexis on for Campbell. Hope he plays up top.

A nailed on pen there. Sanchez on now. Need some spark up front.

Stat from Twitter: been 9 hours since we last scored a league goal against Chelsea.

They know how to defend against us.

Don't think we've had a shot on target yet.

Walcott has been playing like a wet fart recently. We look more lively now with Sanchez on but we ain't going to pass the ball into the net against this lot.

none of this is "unlucky". The sending off was the correct decision. We have a total psychological block against Chelsea. We are really playing poorly and have been for a few games now.

We should cut our losses with Theo. Imo its just never gonna happen. Go buy a quality striker and sell.

0 shots on goal. I really miss Thierry Henry and (grudgingly) van Persie. Goals have been so hard to come by since they left.

This is why you buy a decent striker. This game is a case of a red card costing us and killing us again.

Haven't exactly replaced Van Persie, have we.

Giroud's stats are nice, but consider this, if we were down to 10 men with Van Persie on the field, would Wenger hesitate to sub him?

12/1 the draw and 300/1 Arsenal to win.

They were crap up until the red card too though.

Yeah but with 11 vs 11 we probs would have got back into it ages ago. Next game is a must win.

Awful, awful, awful, awful, awful.

what are the odds on 4th now?!

the better Leicester do, the fewer excuses Wenger has.
Mertesacker will be crucified but apart from the 2 FBs and to an extent, Ozil, thought we were clueless throughout.

Frustrating as hell. No chance of winning titles.
