I remember last time they were above us in the league, they played us at the Emirates & their fans all turned up with the 'mind the gap' banners. To cut a long story short, we beat them that day and they slid down the table. But what I will say is Pochawhatshisface has them playing much better than old Harry did. He's a good manager, Man Utd should take a serious look at him if they're going to offload LvG al the end of the season.

This is normal Alan . A lot of people on here are cheesed off with the same old, not everyone mind you. But I'm one of those who thinks Wengers time is up.

Forster made around 10 great saves last night. He was by far the outstanding man of the match. We created loads of chances, and even Sanchez couldn't put them away.

Save for the performance of their 'keeper, Southampton deserved nothing from the game. They spent almost the entire 99 minutes defending and scrambling balls out of their own area. It was an incredible performance from Forster.

Having said all of that, I think our midfield was very poor in the first half. We really do miss Cazorla and his intelligence and creativity. The whole team ticks much better with him in it.

I also agree, and have said it on here before, that Oxlade Chamberlain is one of the most frustrating players around. His talent is there for all to see when he produces it, but unfortunately that is not often enough. He drifts in and out of the game, and sometimes doesn't show up at all. It's very rare for him to have an outstanding 90 minutes.

To go three league matches without scoring a goal is very frustrating. Having said that we have only conceded one during that time. That sort of total goal average is extremely rare under Wenger - even over just a short spell.

I have no doubt that if we can keep that goals-against average down, we will start scoring again, and we will compete very seriously for the title this season.

Let's start with a win at the weekend. Any sort of win will do.

Come on you Gunners.

He had the Neuer aura about him yesterday and technically has improved.

We had the chances, just couldn't convert either through the brilliance of Forster, a player clearing a chance off the line or a last ditch tackle.

The first half performance was abysmal though. How many times have we said that this season.

It’s the repetitive nature of it really. We always seem to come up against ‘keepers having the game of their lives. Shouldn’t really matter though.

I still say there is something in the whole squad that is wrong. Far too many times we are unable to change a match. Leadership is often mentioned and it does seem like that on the pitch. You don’t ever feel anyone is going to leads by example. I don’t know what it is as it happens year after year.

We put out a team that plays the same every time with no recognisable changes in respect of whatever circumstances are happening. I do think AW has been worked out by many managers not least because we are so predictable. They know what we will do Bournemouth next who had a good win last night. I’m not even confident we will beat them to be honest.

Koeman does have Wenger's number, just like a few other managers.

Looking at the match again, Arsenal were far too wasteful. Yes, Forster was excellent, but there's a correlation between goalkeepers having brilliant games at the Emirates and Arsenal players squandering chances. I don't see the point of Walcott out wide, play him centrally and put Giroud on the bench. Ramsey's been terrible the last few weeks, and there's little point getting worked up about Flamini because it's not his fault the manager keeps playing him. The good thing about Sanchez and Coquelin returning is there's a bit more variation to the game.

I don't know what will happen at Bournemouth but I suspect Sanchez will start hitting form at some point. Manchester United, Barcelona, Leicester sounds daunting, but Arsenal being Arsenal will probably raise their game when written off.

Spurs are starting to gel, but Leicester frankly worry me more. You expect Spurs will Spurs it at some point, but Leicester are an anomaly and if they get through their next two fixtures, they have winnable fixtures and rightly so be title favourites.

I see Barcelona only got the 7 last night....Could be interesting in a hiding behind the sofa, watching through fingers kind of way in a couple of weeks

They got three of their forwards into the top four at the ballon d'or this year. Suarez, Neymar, and er... what's his name, the little fella. Messi, that's it.

The other one was Ronaldo.

Yes, It will be an interesting evening. But it is great to be playing against Barca.

Rosicky ruled out for three months. It effectively means he's more than likely not to play again for Arsenal. I hope he can make some kind of appearance before the season is over but what a complete washout it's been. He has been blighted by injuries since he's arrived. Damn shame.

City losing 2-0 to Leicester We simply have to win tomorrow. Crazy season.

Credit to Leicester for seriously punching above their weight but if they win the league, this will be hugely damning on every perceived 'top manager' in the league.

City this season have been a shambles defensively. How we have not taken advantage is a travesty.

Kante, Mahrez and Vardy; I would take any of them at the moment yet Wenger thinks there are no players out there that we can tempt to improve the squad.

Still think there is a big danger that Spurs might do it. If not Arsenal (which looks increasingly unlikely as they lack a spine and offensive quality) I hope it is Leicester, who actually have a spine and offensive qualities.

Our British crop of players need to really step it up if we still want a chance to compete for the title (I am looking at you Ramsey and Walcott). Can't rely on Ozil every game to bail us out.

Also why can't we play 4-4-2 more often especially at home where we struggle to break down opposition sitting back soaking up the pressure.

I do love Arsenal but if Leicester win the league I would be over the moon. A Midlands team winning the league would be just fantastic. I do believe they deserve to win it too.

If he brings BFG back next weekend Vardy will be in his element...

Why? Ranieri has worked wonders with Leicester but he's not exactly unknown. He helped Chelsea have their most successful seasons in years (at that point) in the early 2000's before Jose came in.

A lot of neutrals are backing them and that's good to see. I live in the Midlands and yeah, it's great seeing a club doing well in a region where it's become the footballing doldrums of late.

He was certainly a respectable coach back then but I wouldn't have thought he was regarded as one of the 'elite' managers. But yeah, he did a good job at Chelsea. He's also had mixed fortunes at other sides too.

Simply have to win the next two games, there are no excuses. We've got a fair few tricky away ties coming, home games will have to be 3 points.

I've lost count of the amount of times I read that certain games are "must-win" and then they are either lost or drawn.

I now go for the hope for the best approach...

Wellbeck played 60 minutes for the under 21s yesterday. Definitely need a result tomorrow. Scoring a goal would be a nice change.
