I'm a United fan, I don't think our situation versus Man City is really comparable to Arsenal versus Spurs. Right now, (and probably has been this way for sometime) United structurally as a club has been a mess. From the reports of the youth system being in a bit of mess, a series of poor managers, Woodward, we've really struggled in our transition period. City has been ahead of us in terms of youth-set up, and the general structure of their club for years. They are now able to attract the best managers in the world and have been far more successful in terms of trophies than United have in recent years. It hasn't really reached that point for Arsenal in regard to Spurs. There's still plenty to play for this season, although Spurs look a complete side than Arsenal right now in terms of form, it could change. Both teams appear to have decent youth prospects coming through. Arsenal have been criticised for aiming for fourth, but rather ironically my team, Chelsea, and Liverpool at this stage talk about fourth as if it was a trophy.
It'll be interesting to see the mix of teams next year, given the improvements United, City, Chelsea are planning the summer. Klopp is also likely to want to get some players in the summer as well.
