Wenger decides everything. Kroenke said Arsene is
our guy by which he meant the board devolved all club decisions to him alone. Gazidis is there to help him but AW decides on transfers. I think Graham broke the trust of the Board with his dodgy dealings but AW is a straight and honest guy. From a board point of view he has not been an expensive manager. We have spent a lot less than other leading clubs and there has been a consistent return that AW can point to. This does not mean we should be satisfied. There are good players out there who may not cost a lot. Clough found diamonds for not a lot of money. He had hard men and skilful players like Gemmill in his teams. We are missing a ruthless winning mentality at the club.

Saving money by not spending on transfers increases the likelihood of his own purse size increasing.

For me the real dilemma will be this summer. Does the club hierarchy allow Wenger to spend big knowing he has just one more year left? Would a new manager be happy with another mangers buys? Or if he is spending big it could be they will give him a new contract.
Or would the supporters be happy with a relatively quiet transfer summer but knowing a new manager the following year would be given a big sum to deal with.

I think we should go all out for the FA Cup/League TBH.

Here was talk of a new contract for him. God knows what happens then.

He doesn't spend as little as people think - we have a big wage bill. There are undeserving players sitting on big wages. How many years did we pay the likes of Diaby £60k a week? It's a smoke and mirrors.

Leicester (and to a lesser extent Spurs) are prime examples of that this season. Both clubs also have a far lower wage bill than we do. When Arsene comes up with his excuses over the next few months this shouldn't be forgotten. When was the last time the club actually discovered a hidden gem from its transfer dealings? Again Arsene lives on his reputation for finding value in the market because I see no evidence of it over recent years.

We did move on some players in 2014/15. Diary was one of the last. Can't think of anyone in the current squad whom I want to see the back of particularly.

Someone will say flamini and arteta.

I would say it's time for Flamini and Mertesacker (if we get another CB in) to go, plus Arteta if we get another CM.

From AW's remarks again today - he didn't seem on the defensive at all, so is clearly under little or no pressure really - he just thinks the fact that we're challenging for the title is enough.
What happened to the young manager who used to be physically sick when he lost?! He keeps making contradictory, bonkers remarks too and of course no-one in the media grills him (unlike LVG).
I've always thought too much money changes people and never for the better. For those who still say 'who else is there?' (leaving aside that the Board would be clueless), there's barely a manager in the world who would turn down £8m a year and London.

Article on why it's a lack of a deep lying playmaker that's costing us rather than a lack of leaders.

The usual rhetoric from the manager today in the presser. Though thought it was a bit rich to say we must all be united and fight to the end etc etc. How about the team showing some gumption and fight then! Then the thing about leadership; I see them as all leaders. Yeah right. Such a cop out. He's heard it all before and said it all before too. Quite funny really.

Wgen i say stooge, i mean he does their face to face bidding. He comes out and spouts all the nonsense the club tells him too. Imo him and the board are one in the same, He makes them money, they give him a reward. However they let him take all the flack and get away with it.

We have clearly missed Santi Carzola. Ramsey and Coq do not work as a centre pair. Ramsey should never be in the centre tbh.

That's always been the great unknown. Exactly how much is AW covering for the boiard, if at all.

Even when we had Arteta starting off the moves we passed it better than we do now. At the moment the majority of our possession is at the back passing sideways because Ramsey isn't great on the turn and bringing the ball out from defence.

I bet you are all hoping Leicester lose tonight but i think it will be a draw with West Brom equalising in the last minute of injury time

West Brom equalise.

Even if they were to drop points they're not going anywhere.
