The board will say he's done a great job, but would Ozil and Sanchez agree?
Haven't they been part of the problem, missing in big games etc. Maybe if these two raised their game when we needed them we would be in a better place.

I think it is down to their mentality You either have got the mentality to win a title or you have not and this team have not got it
It comes down to what they believe in their minds. If they get to the stage where we lose our 1st cl game at home again, they may think "here it goes the start of our exploding season". So most of these games are lost before they step on the pitch. We beat City and these players got big headed that when Southampton knocked them down again they are still concussed.

Why he took off Cambell only he knows
He has a habit if doing this, it is like he is being paid to lose games. Either this or if he plays a certain player above anytime he has to pay their old club money etc. Or he is just a cluess old fart.

Historically we lose these derby matches and then go on really good runs.

Putting things in perspective, the performance wasn't bad. Sunday was terrible, but they created plenty of chances tonight. Problem was they never took them as per. Arsenal worked hard for their goals, Swansea didn't. Two schoolboy errors. This happens every season under Wenger, when it rains it poor.

I have no doubt he can turn it around. Problem is, chances of the title are over. Fourth isn't good enough and his excuses are wearing thin. The board will say he's done a great job, but would Ozil and Sanchez agree?

He doesn't get the maximum out of his players anymore. They cannot be expected to last a season injury free, let alone perform throughout. When was the last time Wilshere played? Why is Arteta captain? Why is Rosicky still around? What has happened to Ramsey? So many questions.

Giroud is not good enough. Works hard, puts in a shift.....so what? I'd be angry if he didn't. A proper striker would take chances and I'm certain Arsenal would bottle it less often. Defence remains a shambles, cannot handle pressure....same old.

An team in Wenger's image. Brilliant on their day, which is few and far between. Very tired, old, and stale. Same problems creeping up, do enough to mask problems.
Based on what??

It's been such a crazy season that anything can still happen.

Can't see us keeping a clean sheet on Saturday. I'd be inclined to bring Chambers in for Gabriel. What the hell!

This feels different to me. Forget the optimism, we have no chance of the title and I get the feeling we're now in a fight for fourth. In a poor season for all the bigger sides both Spurs and Leicester are going to (deservedly) finish above us and that might be the straw that finally breaks the relationship between the manager and the remaining loyal supporters. No matter how he spins it (and believe me, he will) his team is being embarrassed by better run, less expensive, and far less well paid sides (and managers). There is no hiding or excuses this time.

I'd say the chances are we're going to get beaten on Saturday and the reaction of the crowd will be interesting. We haven't really played well all season and I have no faith in the ability of the team and manager (especially the manager) to inspire a recovery in the remaining games.

Whether or not he remains in charge next season (my gut feeling is he will) I don't see any coming back from this.

AW says Cech went into the game with a slight injury, which he's now aggravated.
Couldn't make it up.
Spurs are very physical in midfield. Only Coquelin wins 50/50s in this team and he's not yet back to form. Got to pick Sanchez and Campbell too. And hit Ramsey on the head until he stops giving the ball away. Wenger would never leave out Ramsey, unless Jack were fit.
I'd drop Gabriel for Chambers and not play a high line as both he and Per are slow. But Gabriel is a nervous wreck and Ospina is in goal.....

I'd agree re picking Campbell but I think he'll be dropped (undeservedly) for Theo.

I'd also stick Welbeck up front instead of Giroud.

Chambers should be put in, I like him, he's young athletic and gets stuck in but he seems to be in limbo with us, another young player going backwards under Wenger!

I think there are more twist and turns in this crazy season. Imo when it is all said and done i think Lecister will take it. I think we may not even get top 4.I think Wenger and the board will spin it a lot. They will say howvwe finished better than Money teams like City and Chavs, Utd and pool. I hope all gooners will not swallow this bs, i season tickets are nit being rewneued.

This is so interesting, so it shows he would rather go into a game with a 90% cech than a 100% Ospina who he told the world he trusted. Wenger clealy has no confidence in half these players and them in him. So from top to bottom, manager to fans there is no confudence and this has been the problem all season.

Ospina
Bellerin - Mertesacker - Gabriel - Monreal
Coquelin - Ramsey
Campbell - Ozil - Sanchez
Giroud

Ramsey won't be dropped as it's too risky to play Elneny in a NLD so soon in his Arsenal career, he might deem Welbeck as not fit enough to start a big game and Chambers alongside Per is asking for trouble as they both lacking so much pace.

Can't see us beating them in all honesty!

Another 5-4 like in 2004?
No chance. This team struggles to score 1 goal, let alone 4.

I'd try and get Koeman
They should do what they can to get (can not believe i am going to say this) Jose in. We need someone to ruffle the club and board up. Someone who is a football man and who can motivate these players. This is where you need Dein, Fergie giving Aw a call and telling him to do the decent thing.
Guess he is basing in it on our predictability to finish 4th.

Still feeling depressed today. I really think this could be the beginning of the end for AW. It didn't seem the players were playing for him or the team last night. Something's got to give soon.

It definitely is David. The only problem is who knows how long it will take for the curtain to come down? Two months or five years?

I mean get this team into the top four. Assessing the facts....

*Arsenal lost to a team who have only been beaten once at the Emirates last night. Every club seems to have their bogey opposition.
*They lost at Old Trafford, a place which they haven't won at in almost a decade.
*They haven't been terrible all season. They go through patches of brilliance, followed by ineptitude.
*Cazorla could return, and Alexis will sooner or later find form.

The title's out of the picture. This has been a crazy season but everytime an opportunity arises, Arsenal don't take it. You know they will drop points and let you down. But this team aren't going to plummet down the table, when you see how poor the rest of the league has been. This is a 'top four at best' team.

Considering how this was meant to be the make or break season, Wenger's on thin ice. Cannot see how he'll stay put past May without a title. Always suspected a mutual consent type of contract break.

If the players have stopped playing for him, Than no way can he last long. Like Belligrence said if he does not win the title he will go in the end of the season. The board will push him out like Utd's did fergie.

I wish I was as confident as you. There's no way he'll win the title but unfortunately I think it would take more than that to get the board to push him out. However, if he really loses the fans and it starts to turn unpleasant in the stadium then who knows? I've always said his ego won't allow him to stand sustained abuse from the crowd.

The board in general have been loyal to Wenger & with a new tv deal kicking in next season, i guess they be happy as long as they qualify.
That is the simple truth.

They might notice is if STs and memberships aren't renewed and the tourists pick Spurs or West Ham instead of forking out tout prices for Arsenal tickets, but until then, I doubt they care. The current situation does probably mean that they need to wait to announce the New Contract for Mr W though.

A 7th fa cup triumph might keep him on but mental strength will be required to win that as well. Hull in the replay and the possibility of Chelsea in the semi te team are going to have to vastly improve.

I was replying tongue in cheek to another posting which predicted a cracker. I would be happy with a Rosicky thunderbolt.

Alexis: "We lack self belief"

I agree with him, and sadly Alexis has lost form since returning from injury
