Credit where credit is due. Not a great 1st half but we turned the screw in the 2nd half. Shame about the injuries, just hope not too serious.
I do hope we don't mess about against Watford with an eye on the Barcelona game. |

Interesting - perhaps they should have these more often?:

Manchester City seem to have even less interest in winning the league as we do.

The battle for third place is getting quite interesting.
First and second places look confirmed in either order and fourth place is confirmed as always. But the way Man City are finishing, if they remain in the Champions League this round and next will fall away and any number of sides could now finish third. |

How we could have done with a striker like Lukaku in the team this season.

We have the money. We should pay whatever it takes to get Lukaku.
An absolute beast with his best years still ahead of him. Of course Wenger won't as he won't want to 'kill' Giroud.

How about Eddie Howe for our next manager? Bournemouth play excellent football and he has created a terrific team spirit.

I'd say give him a couple more years with B'mouth and see where they are then. I suspect they would be looking for somebody with a bit more experience though, Arsenal I mean. |

Strong line-up with Sanchez and Ozil starting. Chambers at RB. Coq in for Campbell if I heard correctly. It would suggest that Wenger doesn't want this to go to a replay and the Barcelona match will take care of itself and just have to see it out.
Correction - Campbell does start...Ospina, Chambers, Mert, Gabriel, Gibbs, Coq, Elneny, Sanchez, Campbell, Ozil, Giroud |

Watford's team is lacking a tremendous amount of creativity.
I imagine they will play alot of long/direct balls to Deeney / Ighalo who will run the channels; guediora, watson, capoue and behrami as a midfield 4 is erm agricultural to say the least and I imagine will be bypassed as they'll probably end up losing the ball if they try and attack through them. Hope Marriner gets the cards out early as I imagine they'll be a few yellows with that lot and with Coq / Elneny in midfield. Gotta feeling this will be a really frustrating, tight and low quality match, 1-1 or 1-0 to us |

I think if the Barcelona game were closer, 1-1 coming from the first leg, Wenger might have rested a few people, but even he knows that that game is just a case of getting it out of the way. The FA cup is a realistic target with Palace, Everton West ham & Man Utd still left.
2-0 Arsenal. |

Really predictable, we look rusty, too controlled in the final 3rd lacking flair, Watford look dangerous on the counter using 2 players.
Teams really know how to play us at home doesn't help that we don't have a reliable finisher |

Far be it from me to agree with that cretin Savage, but what a joke of a goal to concede.
Utter mess of a team. |

Sometimes this team needs to be losing to wake them up & start playing.

Story of our season. We create multiple chances with the intricate play and can't finish them then the other team have few and far opportunities and score with the shocking defending.

The final ball is atrocious. The build up play is fine but there's no final product. Watford don't deserve to be winning but they are - because they managed to get just the one decent ball into the area, albeit awfully defended.

If we lose to Watford and then go out of the CL to Barcelona, "big questions will be asked of the manager"......says Robbie Savage.
No they won't Robbie, they really won't. |
