Sounded like Mr Wilshere had been on the sauce. All a bit silly and unnecessary.

The thing is he's representing the club on an official level and it's just a bit tacky I think. He's not 15 anymore. There's no need to mention that lot anyway. It's going to be reported as that's the way of the world now and he's got previous form for it. Just my view.

The manager has some tough decisions to make re players leaving the club. Chesney, Diaby, Podolski, Sanogo and Flamini all spring to mind. He has to sort out Walcott's contract too. Could be a surprise sell also.

Really hope the Vidal story is true. One more marquee signing should set us up for the rest of the season. If Walcott stays, I think Wenger will convert him into a striker so that should mean a GK and CD being bought. |

I know its banter but it was a bit silly of Jack to do that TBH. It was our special day and nothing to do with Spurs.

Arteta has to go IMO. Chesney definitely has to go. Neither of them are good enough for a club challenging for top honours.
Diaby could stay with a revised contract. Something like a month to month or pay as you play. He is a very good player IMO. Obvious doubts over his long term fitness though. He won't get rid of Sanogo. I can see his loan at Palace being extended, or he'll go elsewhere in the PL. Joel Campbell should also be loaned out again. I think the lad has promise, and we've seen with Cocquelin how a player can suddenly come good. I think we'll sell Podolski. I think Walcott will sign. I think we'll buy a keeper, a central midfield player, and a forward. Hopefully all three will be real quality. |

Wilshere isn't the brightest spark.
He's still young though. He'll grow out of it. What's done is done, and in the meantime he has no doubt added to the misery of a significant number of spuds fans who were already pissed off at another season of abject failure. Every cloud and all that. |

I thought Arteta had another year left. Yes I think he will give Diaby a final chance as it were but on a match by match deal or something similar. Really don't know if Flamini will stick around. Think Campbell will be sold. Podolski is a given too. I don't see a future for Sanogo at Arsenal so may as well off load. Not even sure Crystal Palace want him either. Forgot about Jenkinson. I suspect West Ham will try to tie up a permanent deal. I would have liked him to have succeeded at Arsenal but unlikely now. Though it appears Monreal has turned down a contract extension and could be off loaded for the right price. I hope not but Wenger's hand may be forced. All if's and but's at the moment.
Just to add that it looks like Vidal is heading to Old Trafford from what I have been reading. |

Hmm.. interesting as Schneiderlin is linked with Man Utd as well. I doubt they'd be buying both of them.

So what was Jack singing about the spuds?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-32950405 Ah, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=945NgTglefY Classy lad. I presume he will get 'told off' to appease the mortally offended? |

Proper Gooner.
I presume he will get 'told off' to appease the mortally offended? There's a few little flowers in the Chelsea thread who obviously don't like the cut of his jib. How they cope with that paragon of virtue John Terry as their captain I'll never know. |

Thank god for Wilshere deflected all the attention from Leicester's racist orgy.

He did the same at last year's FA Cup parade. Just a bit of banter and light hearted imo. Media just love to blow it out of proportion though.

As a Chelsea fan I'm personally not bothered by what Wilshere did other than use it to highlight the double standards of some Arsenal fans on here (not all to be fair). These two posts from NightHawk123 today illustrate that….
You can't have it both ways…. |

Who gives a damn what Mourinho has to say? The Spanish press didn't like the guy, why do ours kiss his backside at every chance?

Finally got around to putting my thoughts down after the emphatic 4-0 demolition of Villa. Special mentions to Sanchez, Walcott and Cazorla, but I thought Ozil played well too. Defensively, we were good and I hope that next season, Gabriel will get more time and that he comes good.
Also, while I'm not a fan (anymore) of ODL, I do think that he set up the team well and the switch that he made during the game putting Sanchez through the middle, and Walcott on the wing was pretty good. All we can hope now is that we get the replacements/additions that we need in order to take the next step and push for the title. |

I noticed this as well, shame the pundits missed it. Walcott is versatile enough to play any position in the front 3 when Giroud can only play through the middle. Don't think Sanchez plays well with Giroud tbh.
If he had made an apparent tactical mistake, most people on here would be all over it like flies around the proverbial. I think Wenger is beginning to prove that if given comparatively decent money to spend, he can compete with the oil sheikhs and the oligarchs. Money talks. Some of us have been saying that for years. Until a couple of years ago we were not in a position to spend £40m on a player. Now we are - and I believe in the coming years, some of our fans will be eating humble pie. |

Now we are - and I believe in the coming years, some of our fans will be eating humble pie. Most, if not all fans would be more than happy to 'eat humble pie' if it means that Arsenal finally starts to win trophies and compete in a meaningful way, although questions still have to be asked when we drop points at home to the likes of Sunderland, Hull, Spuds and Swansea and still can't seem to get results against our title rivals apart from the odd game. It's looking better now, but I feel that he still has a lot to prove. Two FA Cup wins in a row is a good start, but no more. The proof will be in the summer and I look forward to getting some quality additions/replacements and for the squad to be cleared of some dead wood. We have one of the highest wage wage bills in the EPL (and in world sports for that matter), so it would be good to try and reduce that or at the very least spend it more wisely. |

Wenger in the "skint" (!) years spent money really unwisely and we got saddled with unusable members of the squad on long contracts. Things are now a bit better but there aren't many places available in the squad for new additions without getting rid of some current squad members. Who's going to want Sanogo for eg?
Lloris is saying come and get me to any CL team. Sol crossed North London so why not do it? He's a far better keeper than any one of ours. But Wenger won't. A lot of clubs are waiting to see who Real Madrid offload next too. If Wenger is interested in Schneiderlin, he's taking ages about it. He's not going to change his M.O especially as he's now won the Cup. I think the problem is less financial these days than him not recognising weaknesses in his own squad. |

Chelsea, man city and man united also bought a fair few duds. The difference is they just chucked them to one side and went out and spent some more. We weren't in a position to do that.

A lot of clubs are waiting to see who Real Madrid offload next too. . Although I doubt they would sell him to us especially if he's still in contract as Sol was a free agent when he came to us.If not, De Gea looks as though he's off to RM and I doubt Casillas would be happy as number 2 so maybe he'd be worth a shout? Otherwise Cech. So quite a few GKs out there to choose from. Some players aren't available until right at the end of the transfer window though. |
