Arsenal players and staff never talk to reporters?
Wow! Thank you Elyan, I've learnt something here today! ![]() "Yeah, we're mystified by Wenger's decisions." "Mystified?" "Yeah, mystified." "In what way?" "Well he's doing some strange things you see." "Is he?" "Yeah. He put another goalkeeper in goal when our main one was injured." "Right?" "Yeah... and he gave us a day off." **scribbling** "a.day.off.and.re.placed.an.in.jured.kee.per. Anything else?" "Isn't that enough!?" "Yes I suppose it is - I'll get writing straight away. Thanks." "No problem... and listen!" "Eh?" "It didn't come from me." "You can rely on my discretion." |

Even that is without source or substance. Just the typical sort of trashy page-filling you'd expect from many football writers.
Like Arsenal players and staff will be giving their opinions to a newspaper hack. But you obviously want it to be true, so fill your boots. |

Not sure people believe what they want to believe. I mean no one belives what your dear leader tells them. John Cross has always been close to us and most of what he says is true.

It's called perspective. I wasn't very old when Terry Neill was in charge but it was a different time and so I'm not sure it's a fair comparison. Even so though, I think people who have grown up with Wenger in charge are spoiled. No club is guaranteed success forever. Football is cyclical as Liverpool and now United are discovering, good things don't last forever ... and how boring would life be if they did?
So what if we don't achieve top four for a few years, we'll come back and success will be all the sweeter for it. And I really don't get your obsession with 'that lot'. Sure it's great to beat them in an individual game but if we ALWAYS finish above them then that isn't a rivalry but a domination. If they are always beneath us where is the challenge and the feeling of 'f-you' when they fail. I support Arsenal and not Arsene. Arsenal would be better off without him and so anything that helps achieve that is fine by me. It might not get rid of him, who knows, but it will increase the pressure tremendously and that's something he is getting increasingly bad at managing. As for the supposed 40,000, well I suspect the performance of the club over the last few years will have reduced that number significantly and the proportion prepared to put their hands in their pockets to see this team on a regular basis may be far fewer than you imagine at the moment. Your problem is that you're taking this far too seriously. Football is a GAME not a matter of life or death. My best moment watching Arsenal was on the 26 May 1989 and it was all the sweeter because we did something nobody expected us to do and won the championship after 18 odd years without. It was glorious and unbelievable and there hasn't been a single moment in the Wenger years (as good as some of them were) which comes close to that. I hope you have the chance to experience that at some point but you sure as hell won't under Arsene. If all we do is aim to finish in the top four every year that's not worth watching for anyone. Have some ambition. Have some confidence that to go forward sometimes you need to go back first. |

The fans turning will be key, there seem to be too many AKB still around.
He refused to strengthen when needed. He plays the same way every game. Leicester winning the league puts what he has been doing in a new light, they've spent hardly anything but have been very well managed and set up and strengthened where needed. A new manager is needed. |

I agree with what he says regarding some our fans needing to have more respect for the manager.
dear leader indeed. Back to back FA cup wins gave him some breathing space, but this season we should have walked away with the league. No wins at all this season against the poorest Chelsea team in a long time, Southampton, Liverpool, Spurs, West Ham, home defeat in the FA Cup, and questionable decisions early on in the CL gives the fans the right to moan. As a lot of people have said, it's time to go for ODL. |

Blimey your a patronising so and so aren't you. I fully well realise that football is just a game (I presume you were being ironic when asserted that). Also being someone who regularly goes to the Emirates and before that Highbury (way back before 1989. So yeah I can just about remember that evening thanks) I resent the assertion that I've somehow missed out. Believe it or not your opinion is not fact. Maybe Arsenal would be better off without Wenger. Then again maybe he can turn it around. Who knows? But wanting the team to actively fail just doesn't sit right with me.
However I didn't mean to patronise and so I apologise. I had assumed, from your question about Terry Neill, that you were much younger then you obviously are. I just find it hard to understand how someone with that wider perspective could still have faith in him. |

Respect is not a given right because of what you once did. Respect is earnt. If Wenger dies not respect the fans why should they. I am not saying vile abuse is allowed.

John Cross from the Mirror on TalkSport - he doesn't think Wenger should be offered a new contract but also says that the amount of criticism, abuse etc he's receiving is a disgrace and that the Tott fans are loving it with our in-fighting. He also reckons that he will see out the final year of his current contract but if things get so toxic between now and the season end that he may just walk, adding he's not immune to the fans feelings despite contrary belief. I guess we would have to miss out on a CL place for him to seriously consider stepping down or not.
Apparently Wenger is more than a bit miffed at the amount of stick he's getting. John Cross is so far up Wenger's arse - is no-one allowed to question him now? |

I have never heard of the hack, but if it is a genuine article, it's hard to decide who is the more ineffective. Him as a journalist or Theo has a footballer at the moment. |

Got a letter about the West Brom game on GS...............why the hell would I want to go a bunch of clowns bottling it again, or cheat the fans with another 'wonderful' performance in a no-mark game. Glad a lot of people are boycotting. Same sh*t, different season. Quote:

A new manager is needed. Pochettino deserves plenty of credit, and unlike previous Spurs managers he doesn't run his mouth about how they will overtake Arsenal. They play good football too..........nothing stale about them. It's not even like the problem is Wenger strengthening. He just doesn't know how to get the best out of his players anymore. Ranieri and Pochettino do, that's why they are top. Quote:
Honestly, diddums.

Spurs winning the league would basically be a triumph in coaching and he has nowhere to hide. They've gone from Spursy to the league's most competent defence in two years..............have Arsenal's back line improved?

He did not and it backfired. |

I think constructive criticism/making yourself heard is fine but vile abuse is uncalled for. Then again according to the article telling AW to **** off = "vile abuse" - really?
I'm sure I read of far, far worseI'm not saying he hasn't done a lot for our club but he should go imo, he's done all he can Great legacy but its time to go |

To win a league you have to spend money. The players we have are not good enough to win the league regardless of who coaches them. Spurs and Lecister spent money to bolster their squads and have played like great teams.
We just have a few good players and that is it. I'm of the opinion that the current team could actually perform significantly better if only it was managed and coached properly. |
