We've won the away teams league, the league of the top teams and all but sewn up the 4th place trophy.
The Treble and still the ungrateful swines are protesting. |

The Treble and still the ungrateful swines are protesting. We're THIRD in the 'away' league table We've only dropped five points at home against sides in the bottom half yet lie twelve behind Leicester. It's arrogance on top of arrogance on top of delusion. EDIT: As Phoebica just pointed out |

I'll give it a go, I speak bullshit fluently...
I was stupid enough not to realise that teams can suss us out by cheating with things like tactics etc. That sort of behaviour is beneath me, but hey, I'm trousering 8million per year so I'm not losing any sleep over it. We're still on course to win the 4th place trophy and I can guarantee that we'll not lose a game in the Emirates Cup next season! And: If the other managers would just allow us 3 points at home to teams like West Ham, Swansea etc, we'd be champions, so that's what I'll be pushing for next year. I also think that the supporters are to blame for not scoring more goals and I feel Giroud's getting a lot of stick as a result. I mean, look at his hair, how an anyone begrudge him a goal or not just applaud him for almost being in the right position nearly always some of the time? very good.Reflecting on the season, I think we're being too hard on Wenger and the guys. After all, we beat Leicester twice, surely there must be a trophy knocking about for that. Bloody outrageous if no-one acknowledges it I would say!!! |

Surprised to hear Alan Smith siding with the fans on the radio.

Alan Smith is definitely pro change unlike Henry/Keown who constantly defend Wenger and would rather blame the players themselves.

Alan Smith had already retired before Wenger joined the club. It's the players that played under Wenger that generally defend him, except Wrighty who didn't feature that much when Wenger was his manager.
I believe this is the beginning of the end. Like Sotek says, once the fans turn against the manager then it's not sustainable. Luckily for the manager, the summer break isn't far away but he knows he has to be decisive in the transfer market. Also he needs or the club needs to address the supporters as to what's going to happen regarding his contract. I know I have said this already but they can't just start next season with this air of uncertainty surrounding the club. Something will have to give. If the club and it's a big if, if they don't offer him a new deal then in a way his position becomes somewhat untenable but if he is offered a new deal then he has to be honest with himself and ask is what he really wants? Another 2, maybe 3 seasons after nexr season finished. My gut feeling is that next season will be his last. |

I suppose since they both have such close links to the club, think Keown is still there and Henry reported to be involved with the U21's (correct me if I'm wrong as not 100% sure)? Probably too scared to go against Wenger, or they'll find the door firmly closed in their faces.

Anyone translate please? "We lost the championship at home against lower teams but we played at home in a very difficult climate. We are top of the league in the top teams, we want to add what is needed.”
And: We have to realise that, away from home, we are championship winners. At home, against the smaller teams, we lost the league. |

As someone on another forum put it "he's trying to de-legitamise the protest". I think the worst bit is saying the fans have been manipulated. Cos' the fans are thick and can't think for themselves obviously.
I rule for him and 1 for everyone else. The guy is coming to an end soon. his behaviour shows this. He is trying to do damage control but it is not working. |

I think he'll be manager at the beginning of next season. I'm confident he won't be by the end of it. |

I've said it before, and because I'm fond of repeating myself I'll say it again. It's like a marriage gone sour and Wenger is the party hanging on for dear life, hoping things will go back to the way it once was.
I'd like to come around to Sotek's way of thinking and that he won't be able to take the heat - maybe, just maybe, if the fans keep up the pressure he will leave. But as he's a stubborn old scrote I can't see it myself. It'll be interesting to see if the fans protest today really does happen or will all be a flash in the pan? |

Wenger says Arsenal only got the bank loan for the new stadium because he agreed magnanimously to stay on for 5 years as manager.
In that time, he turned down Barcelona, Real and Man City. I'm not going to state the obvious

He needs to look at Pelligrini if he wants to learn how to behave with a bit of dignity. Coming out with all this nonsense makes him look like a fool. The City manager hasn't said a jot about Guardiola coming in, just accepted the situation quietly and will move on. Whereas Wenger, has had it all his own way for years, and the very moment the fans, quite rightly challenge him he throws his toys out of the pram. For a man of his age and education, I would have expected better.

Wondered where you were Sats. Think I'm safest posting just in this thread for now! Can't help but think if he'd just come out and simply said we've let you down and will do our best to fix it and didn't use excuses there would be a lot more understanding for him. Instead we get excuse after excuse and it's all worn very thin.

Which is why we will continue to see the same thing happening over and over again.

Personally I think it will just make him more stubborn. I think he believes he is right and everyone else is wrong. He'll just be more determined to keep doing the same thing to prove it.
