Looking forward to the Champions League qualifer against Besiktas in August, when Wenger has signed one outfield player.

Another bloody awful performance with seemingly no tactical set-up or shape... but a great result. Should see us avoid the dreaded qualifier excuse for no signings + keeps St Totts alive.

Looks like no St. Totts day this year, but oh well.
The result today could have been worse.

Second is possible, if Newcastle beat Spurs and we do our job.

I'd take third............Wenger would cite second as a means of improvement.

Strange game. Didn't think we were awful but not great either. Showed some determination unlike our last visit to Manchester. We do like to fanny about with it in the danger area and more often than not we get caught in possession which just puts the pressure back on us.

A good result all said and done which should secure 3rd spot. I don't see Newcastle beating TH but stranger things have happened. It will be a brucie bonus if we finish above them but am happy with 3rd in the scheme of things.

BIB: I agree, I dont see them winning either but they may try very hard if there's a chance they can stay up.
I'm happy with 3rd too TBH

In some ways a classic Arsenal game. Rubbish defending and conceding far too easily. Yet another possible nasty injury. Scored a couple whilst City defended like us. Next season will be exactly the same again.

We have seen some 'fighting' spirit in the away games against the big boys, at WHL, Anfield and yesterday.

But then you remember the circumstances, like Coquelin's stupid sending off, the sloppy start against Liverpool, the no-show at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford, and don't get me started about West Ham.

As well as a decent striker, this team could do with midfielders who dictates the tempo.

Lots of rumours tonight that Walcott is off to The Hammers in the summer for over £20 million.
A crap day just got a little better.

Hallelujah! That's great news if true. Let's hope it's invested back into the squad.

if Walcott goes, will Wenger spend the money, and on who? Another Sanogo or Gervinho type player?!

Laughing at the supposed 50 000 West Ham season ticket holders. Going to be a big season for online ticket touts I reckon. Be interesting to see if the tourists swap the Emirates for the Olympic stadium for their day trips out/shirt buying etc.

The only worry I have about the likes of Walcott leaving is the niggling feeling he might blossom under another manager, same with the Ox come to that.

Oh for sure. I have no doubts that if he goes to West Ham he'll score against us!

I still don't think he'll go though. Not sure he'd want to either, he seems pretty happy. I guess it depends how ambitious he is - he might just be happy to hang around
watching his £140,000 go into his bank each month... Can't imagine anyone else playing him that much!

Not sure it matters if he scores agains t us. It is just 2 games, He is just not doing it for us. If he misses out on the Euros than he will deffo would do what it took to leave. He needs to be playing regularly and we need a better player. Him, Ox rest of the deadwood need to go.

Hummels signs for Bayern. That's one decent central defender off crossed off the shopping list.

Fascinating tweet from Rafa Honigstein this morning:

A change of tact from Wenger? After having earlier offer rebuffed, he's come back to pay full whack for Xhaka. (€50m, including add-ones)
Followed by:

Gladbach are trying to get a replacement signed before announcing the deal
I have a lot of time for Honigstein. He's usually on the money and not one for speculation so this one probably is as accurate as it's possible to get. On one hand Arsene is finally doing what we've all been desperate for him to do, on the other does anyone want to tell me if this will be a good deal at €50m? The initial fee without add-ons will probably be lower of course.

Wenger learning from that Suraez mess. just pay the money and get it done. Lets be honest Top 4 will not be easy to achieve next season. Also Aw would want to go out on a bang.

Is the player worth the money, not sure but he seems to be highly rated. Guess these days over inflated prices is the way it goes. Guess if he does come someone is on the way out.

What a strange interpretation of my comment! Says more about your agenda than mine I think.

I genuinely don't know anything about Xhaka. You tell me, is this a good price?

No agenda from me. I don't know about Xhaka either but if Arsene wants to splash out big money surely that is a positive move?
