Szczesny finds a pal that will keep people away from his goal.

Looks like the Cech singing is finally going through as the medical will be done today.

Hopefully a DM next leaving the best 'til last with a top class striker.

Yep, a DM is a must now. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get an upgrade on Giroud and think that if (big bold IF), our strikers and Sanchez stay fit, this may be enough to challenge.

I can only guess it would be because Chesney qualifies as homegrown.
It certainly can't be on ability.

Ospina did a fine job for us, his stats for last season are outstanding.
I quite like Szczęsny and disagree with what you have said about him. Goalkeepers can all go through rough patches but he is top quality and we need to keep supporting him. Flappyhandski got a lot more stick, maybe deservedly so but has come out the other end and had a great season with Swansea.

Cech has a decent enough pedigree but as with Van Persie, Nasri and a few others, isn't this just another case of a player moving to a supposedly bigger club, just so he can 'win trophies'.

DM as a first choice replacement for Coquelin or as a backup?

I thought he was our star performer last season in a position where players often don't get noticed, and can only see him getting better in the next few years. Flamini is still decent enough as back up, do we have any capable youngsters coming through that would fit this role?

Coq did a fine job yes, but it's worrying that we relied on someone who played for Charlton only weeks before cementing his place on the team. Keep Coq as back up and buy quality, I'd say.

Flamini's not good enough, imo. If there's any way we can move one or two of him Arteta, and Rosicky on and still get a fee, I'd say do it.

I'd like to think my footballing heroes had much better taste in music than that.

Yep, seems to be quite a few reports on this now. Would be a good signing.

Chech + Vidal + a top striker would be a good summer, imo.

Czech and Vidal would be good. A quality striker on top of that would be quite a bit beyond that actually.

One can dream...

I think we need another striker otherwise we're relying on Giroud (good as he has been).
Alexis' first season was a blinder, can he do it again?

That would be an excellent summer if it pans out, especially as it looks like we'll miss Alexis at the beginning of the season.

Good news and a good signing to start our summer transfer window!

Not sure about Vidal - would prefer an actual DM rather than a box to box midfielder but I guess Wenger thinks he can convert him into one.

Wonder if we're in the market for a CB as well as a forward?

Vidal would be great, I feel. A bit of bite that we've been missing and Coq will also still have a role to play.

We still have Gabriel for the CB role, hopefully we'll get to see more of him. Merts is getting on a bit and wasn't the quickest to start with.

Forward would be the icing on the cake. Still, I was quite impressed with Walcott through the middle and it's worth trying him a bit more.

Giroud doesn't play/link very well with Alexis whereas Walcott does and is pretty versatile to play any position in the front three. If a striker isn't bought then I hope to see more of Walcott up front when Alexis is back.

Very relieved to have completed the signing of Cech after what's happened a few times to us in recent seasons. We've got a great chance of challenging for the title now, just need Vidal and a world class striker I feel.

Great, great signing.

Reminds me of when we got Pat Jennings from spuds, after they thought he was finished.

Relying on Giroud to play well in the top games will inevitably lead to disappointment.
