I'd love Morata but I'm unconvinced that Wenger could win a chase between the several top clubs linked with him, unless he has an insider at RM and Morata fancies North over West London. Assuming RM don't decide to buy him back.
Juve seem to have acknowledged that they don't have enough money to buy him.
Silly season but it doesn't seem that Morata may well move on. Get Ozil on the phone to him now!

Doesn't this happen every early summer? When do your season tickets go on sale?
It does yes, but we seem to be getting stuff done early, but then again, we did last year too....

Not much of a benefit maybe, but at least we could offer CL footy. If RM want to buy back Morata, they'll be in prime position and even if they don't, they may well want to activate the clause and act as an intermediate and put a margin on him to whoever buys him in the end. Not a perfect or usual scenario, but if they need the cash, they may well go down this route.

Good analysis on Xhaka and what we can expect from him http://www.arsenal.com/news/features...6/granit-xhaka

Also Ramsey gets Arteta's number 8 shirt. Wonder what Wenger's thinking is re Ramsey whether he will partner with Xhaka in CM or play on the right wing.

That's weird as I heard Coquelin was getting the number 8, which I did think was strange; he would suit number 4 much better. Ramsey suits the 8 perfectly.

Stan's increased his share of ownership to about 67%. Cheery news, sorry.

More too - Carlo Ancelotti has released a new book. He also gave an interview where he said it was a shame that the owners of Arsenal and Man Utd had prioritised money over success on the pitch. There goes any (slight) hope of my favourite manager ever taking over from Wenger then.

I don't care how much money is spent or what players are brought in, we won't be winning the league or CL until the old dinosaur is removed.

have a feeling Ozil will leave in the summer, possibly for Bayern. Götze is a bench player there. Maybe a swap? Apparently Wenger has offered a huge salary hike to Ozil but he still won't commit. He's never won the CL.
Wenger might change that if he signs a world class replacement for Giroud but can anyone see that happening?

It's embarrassing that ambitious players have to leave Arsenal to achieve success and then they go on to win stuff at other clubs.

If Wenger doesn't sign a proper striker and defender it will be exactly the same kind of season.

L'equipe saying Wenger willing to spend on a striker. They say Higuain, morata or Vardy.

And stories this morning that Bellerin has been quoted as saying he is 'happy to attract the attention of such big clubs' which doesn't sound as if it's going to end happily for us in the long term either.

This, unfortunately, is the end result of years and years of underachievement. It's always the best players who become unhappy and who can blame them for wanting to get out and find a team and manager with ambition? Not me.

Giroud supposedly doesn't like the idea of leaving Arsenal, and who can blame him if the manager has mollycoddled him.

Zidane's essensially done in 5 months what Wenger's tried to do in 20 years and that's win one CL. It's a shame Dear Leader'll never get the chance to do so..........his tactics are predictable, cannot get the best of his players, they always let you down and the team always, always get knocked out before March. He just doesn't have it in him to set the team up stubbornly, or improve their efficiency.

Real, Barca, Bayern, Atletico, Sevilla, Juventus, City (under Pep) are all streets ahead of Arsenal. And I would fancy Leicester doing better in Europe...

With Pep at City and Jose at United, Arsenal's title chances are really minute this season

Being linked with Zouma now. Wouldn't be against that, but still prefer to focus on a striker.

don't think there will be any signings now until after the Euros. Wenger is off on his lucrative commentary stint too.

Looks like Morata wants to go back to RM if he'll get game time there; seems to suggest he'll stay at Juve unless that happens. He's from Madrid and is probably a RM fan.
Giroud keeps getting the bird from the French fans. He scored against Cameroon last night but also missed a one on one. However Koscielny looked horrendous at CB, although paired with Rami isn't going to help him.
Payet scored a fantastic freekick. (he's too good for the Hammers!) Their midfield looks so strong and fun to watch.

I'm going to France end June - hope to see them play. Def on the look out for one of those chicken hats though (see end of vid)

Linked with Marco Reus and James Rodriguez.

Congratulations on Hector Bellerin making the Spain squad for Euros.

I think it's more prestigious to have made the France/Germany/Spain squads

I agree with Xela on this one. Having players in the England squad isn't exactly anything to brag about, although I'm sure Spurs are bringing out a "special " DVD as we speak

Jack shouldn't be in the squad either, daft selection from Roy.

what are the rules on bringing in a reserve player? eg if Wilshere breaks down early in the tournament?

All coaches have blind spots. Look at del Bosque with Casillas. Deschamps picked Gignac (think he now plays for a Mexican league side) over Sevilla's Gameiro.

Not sure why Jack is in there either, but I can predict the following to occur:

He plays well for all of the games, gets injured in the last one and misses 80-90% of next season with us.

Xhaka has changed his shirt no. Wonder if the skinflints will refund or exchange shirts that over enthusiastic Gooners have already bought?
I hate the new shirt with its stripe down the middle.
