Why Wilshere/Henderson were picked over someone like Drinkwater I have no idea

Simply because he's three times the player Drinkwater is.
One of the advantages of not playing all season is that he'll go into the tournament fresh as a daisy with the warm-up matches building up his match fitness as he goes.

I find it bizarre that anybody would prefer Drinkwater out of the two.

As for Henderson and Drinkwater- much of a muchness, so not particularly bothered either way.

I knew Wilshere was hated across the media and opposing fans but surprised to see fans of his club team feel the same.

Just because he was injured for most of the season doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to go.

Laughable if anyone thinks Drinkwater is a better player than Wilshere.

Wilshere has never proven anything as a player, he was hyped from a very young age but has never actually achieved anything. Partly because of injury but even still how much better is he than someone like Cleverley? his scoring record is laughable, hes also not known much for assisting or defending.

Some people like Sky Sports or that go on about Wilshere like he is Thiago or Bayern or Gundogan of Dortmund or Koke etc when he's never been half as good as them at any point in his career so far, living on reputation.

But Drinkwater has had a great season

He has. I would have picked him over Henderson personally but the quality that Wilshere brings and also that there's hardly any other English midfielders knocking on the door to displace his place in the squad means he had to go. Just a shame that injuries keep hampering his progress but you can't deny he has a great footballing brain.

The two goals against Slovenia showed what he can produce.

that's how I read Gazidis's comments though. No hurry, Wenger is fit, keen, he can win us the league, long term planning at a time of The Great One's choosing etc. Don't you?

You know its going to happen. At some point next season there'll be a run of wins - say 6 in a row - and they'll announce the new contract off the back of it during a "feel good moment".

He's on a guaranteed 8 Million a year. Like any sane human being he'll be fighting hard to keep it that way.

Was it ever in doubt?

Vardy is such a one dimensional player. He has no subtlety or European experience. Plus there's a really nasty side to him. Why would Arsenal go for him? I don't understand.

Think it's last chance saloon, Wenger going all out to win something big next season. He knows one big slip up, failure not to strengthen and he'll have no leg to stand on.

Vardy will be another Francis Jeffers. Short-sighted Wenger.

Would he sign a new 3 Year deal. Even if he does no way he would he stay for the duration.

Onto Vardy. Not sure he is the right choice although Ian Wright and others will be delighted. IF Morata etc come as well than it is great striking options.

I agree which is why i think we will see a few more signings. He is deperate to win the league and the board are so they can give him the deal.

Dont know about signing Vardy, he has no European experience.

Vardy has only had one good season and that is with a team playing the wimbledon way. How would he fit in with a sophisticated if sometime boring team that is all about possession?

A 29 year old striker who has had one good season sounds right up Wenger's alley.
