The players aren't necessarily the problem.

I still maintain that most managers in the PL would give an arm and a leg to have our depth in midfield. Technically you won't find a better group of players.

But the tactics, lack of intelligence, mentality, system to accommodate.........that's been the major problem. And Wenger's at the heart of it. He struggles to get the best out of Ramsey, Ozil and handicaps himself with Giroud. What work is done in training to sort out the defence?

I see United have made another signing and mean business. Leicester have recruited well, and god knows what City and Chelsea will be up to.

Arsenal meanwhile look up to their usual tricks. I guess it's best to forget about the title (because this team buckle under pressure) and focus on top four. Who knows, it may work to the team's advantage if we write them off.

At least no title means bye, bye Wenger.........he'd have no leg to stand on if he fails to deliver league or European glory.

Utd possibly spending £100m on Pogba and back in Wenger land........?

Got to laugh at Giroud trying to run.

Apparently Juventus are after Alexis I dont think he's going anywhere.

This has all the hallmarks of previous summers. Clubs making their purchases while we stand still watching. I suppose the manager will have a holiday after the Euro's then nothing will happen as per usual. Leicester are strengthening I notice.

We've been saying the same for the past 6 seasons and the old crusty is still hanging on. Unless he's carried out in a coffin, he ain't going anywhere.

You are right. He isn't going anywhere, that's why he might bugger off.

Yes, the gossip is he'd like to leave. Whether or not we let him is a different story but if there is a big enough offer I'd say it was a possibility.

Oh great, another season were we will be patronised by Wenger. I can't wait.

He's a selfish, deluded prick.

Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd will definitely be in the top 4 this season. We will fight out with Spurs and Liverpool for the final place and I think unless this team/squad is strengthened and improved this might be the season we will miss out.

It must be really exciting to be a fan of those three clubs at the moment.
Whilst all we get is another season of the same old shit, listening to the increasingly deluded ramblings of a senile old fool.
Happy days indeed.

Arsenal need a world class centre back, world class striker and a decent winger if they want a team to compete, even still what will we do about Wengers lack of tactics and how teams can bully us and get results? I'm so embarrassed with some of the crap we've had to deal with.

Leicester, who appear to be keeping their big names, have already bought FOUR new players to freshen up their squad. What have we done to deal with the numerous problems in ours? Absolutely nothing.

I'm not angry. Just sad about another waste of a season and hoping we get off to a dreadful start that will see Wenger hounded out by the fans.

Where is the old duffer anyway, still in France?

I imagine in his mind, seeing as there are a few Arsenal & ex-Arsenal players in the team he believes he's solely responsible for the French team reaching the final.

So, ODL is refusing to rule out taking the England job once his contract expires. Would be ideal if he's getting an offer he can't refuse from the FA.

Not getting much in terms of signings, so far, we've had three leave and one in (not counting the Japanese bloke, who'll no doubt sell a few shirts, make some appearances in the cups and then move out on loan never to be seen again).

It would be great if we can get a CD, DM and striker in, but it's not looking likely, is it? Kante's apparently got a release clause and he'd be a good addition with experience in the PL, the likes of Morata could be added too, but will cost a fair bit that ODL is probably not prepared to fork out. On paper, we have a decent team, but once the season starts, we'll no doubt be suffering injuries and be back to the bare bones.

Kos was unlucky last night with his yellow card that he got for an opponent's handball. Had that not happened, I doubt that they'd have scored their goal. Firstly, the ball would have been at the other end when they scored, and if it hadn't been there, he could have gladly taken the yellow. As it happened, he was forced to take a chance or get sent off, so he had to rely on Lloris, who 'spursed' it up. Giroud had a fine tournament, as did Ozil and Sanchez, hopefully they'll take their form into the league.

Issac Hayden has joined Newcastle on a 5 year deal:

Good luck to him But that leaves us even shorter in the striker department

Have you forgotten we gave Sanogo back? No worries in that department.

He's a defender not a striker.

My bad
I'm sure he'll get more game time at Newcastle, he's still only 21, lots of time to develop.

What about the new Switzerland signing? He's a defensive midfielder

If there was a real desire from both parties to make this happen immediately then it could but it's easy for Wenger to say he's interested knowing full well he's got another year left on his current contract. The FA aren't going to wait a year to get him unless they have an interim manager(s) but don't see that happening. Arsenal FC wouldn't stand in his way if he really wanted to take the job on. He wouldn't have to worry about transfers either!

PS He doesn't worry about transfers anyway. Doh!

Surely our manager wouldn't be so petty as to threaten one of our all time greats with losing his coaching role just because he has a role as a pundit and might, from time to time, actually tell some home truths about our players?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...b-Arsenal.html

Surely not.

Would anyone like to point out to the French fool that he has just spent a month in France doing the exact same thing whilst apparently doing sod all for the club he is supposed to manage?

Good grief - is there no end to his dictatorship? So criticise the team and you're frozen out? Explains why some of our ex-players are terrified to come out publically and say anything negative......Wenger probably stands at the gates of the Wengerdome like Gandalf "you shall not pass".

I hope TH tells him to poke it.
