Defender should be a priority then

Story seems to be being reported more widely now. A lot of it appears to go back to one tweet though.

Would any of us really be surprised with our medical record though? At this point I'd be more amazed if he wasn't out.

Lyon have rejected a £30 million offer for Lacazette. Maybe offering another £1 might make them change their mind.

Think we've gotta go back in with a generous offer of at least £36m to give them food for thought. Lacazette is quality.

Lyon don't want to sell and are under no financial pressure to do so. If Arsene is even remotely serious about this (and god knows we need someone) he has to go in with a good offer straightaway.

Think we can write this one off. We clearly are going to play our usual pathetic transfer games here and end up with nothing.

Contemptible.

He didn't make the French Euro squad. Why was this?

His form last season wasn't as good as the year before. Lyon missed Fekir last season which hurt Lacazette as Fekir was a really good partner for him.

That makes me depressed. Isnt the offer £6m less than what West Ham bid?

It's a farce. Arsene learns NOTHING. No wonder we're so predictable.

Aulas the Lyon chairman hates Wenger. So of course he'd be happy to 'leak' Arsenal's bid, which probably will backfire on him now.

Player unsettled. Think it's a smokescreen, Wenger will sign that Ben Yedder kid for €8m. If Mahrez and a CB comes in, that's potentially good business.

No faith in Wenger's 'tactics' though!!

Could be wrong but I don't see a lot of legs in the Mahrez rumour, sounds as though his agent was at the lens game where he allegedly represents lens players and the press made a story out of that.

As the previous poster mentioned I have no faith in Wenger's tactics and that why just like last year I'm not practically frustrated or excited by any transfer Information. There is just a hollow feeling that whatever happens in this window the story stays the same come may.

The chances of signing anyone else in this window is slim to none. Just like last season when we signed an aged goalkeeper and nobody else. This season we've made our one signing and that it's likely to be that.

The ball is in the players court. If he wants to leave he will. I Agree if we want him this bad then give them what they want.

More deals will happen according to ITK's on twitter. It just a question of will be the good, same old or Panic buys.

I can see a higher bid going in for Lacazette. I have a feeling we will sign him. Cant say I've heard of him though.

He is a pacy striker more Henry esque. He can finish better than Giroud.

I feel like even Wenger wouldn't be so stubborn not to buy cover for Mertesacker but he won't deal with the big issues particularly the fact that since van Persie left we haven't had a reliable striker.

I wonder of we'll see some first team appearances for Krystian Bielik this season. He's been standing out as a bit of a class above in reserve games. Only 18, but a big, strong lad, who tackles well and reads the game well.

Did anyone listen to the Sportsbar on Talksport last night? Had Matt Scott on for an hour. He went in to some depth on what he see as being wrong at the club. He mostly blames Kroenke whilst saying Wenger was complicit by going along with it.

He says Kroenke is completely unambitious and just see the club as providing equity for his other businesses. He reckons is would take £3bn to buy Kroenke out. He said if Wenger left it would make no difference as its Kroenke who is the real problem. I disagree a bit there as I don't think we get the best out of what we have.

He seemed quite sure a lot of our so called bids for players are made with no intention of completing the signing but just to appease the fans to make it look like we are trying. He also said he strongly suspects Wenger has a side contract with Kroenke that he gets a bonus if he keeps spending under a certain level. No evidence for that.

He called the club a "zombie club" and that is dead, It was very interesting and surprisingly good considering what show it was.

Still baffled in we have gone in £6m lower than West Ham. Can't see what we hope to active with that.

All the new managers joined their clubs and handed the deal-makers a shopping list of players they wanted. Wenger doesn't seem to know who he wants. I still think he's hoping that a bigger club discard someone as it seems his only strategy.

There are strikers out there. Imho the best of them is Gameiro (who was the real loser when Deschamps inexplicably picked Gignac, who is awful but a cult hero in France).
He looks like he's going to Atletico for €30m + a player. A choice between us and Atletico not too hard for Gameiro to make, sadly.

Bacca at Milan might be available. He's more of a goal poacher. Both ex Sevilla.
I'm not sure about Lacazette but we do need someone. Still laughing at that break away of Giroud in Marseille (I was lucky enough to be there) when he was like running in treacle.
btw Giroud is NOT a cult hero in France Although he is far better than Gignac.
I live in dread of Wenger signing Gignac!

I think he will be sold. He's already been left out of the tour to America and isn't best pleased about it. Latest rumours linking him with PSG and a reunion with Emery.

oh well, we won't match what PSG would offer. Pity.
If Wenger rolls out Sanogo as a LANS..............

Ivan saying we can not compete with our rivals, they have more money etc. Excuse already it seems.

I did not think he deserved all the abuse he got on twitter. Yes he blamed the board but in no way was he a Wenger apologist. I think what he means is? If Stan is still at the helm when Aw leaves another yes man will come in. So i terms of Spending it could be the same. I guess once Aw leaves we will really see if hevis reluctant to spend or Stan does not let him and he goes along with it.

thought it was interesting him saying he thinks maybe Aw gets a bonus everytime we savs money etc.

guess everyone has an opion, he made valid and honest points even if he did not say Aw out like most wanted to here.

With Ivan saying we can not compete finacially shows something doddgy is going on behind the secenes.
