Wenger and his training field full blooded challenges, he strips off his puffa coat and gets stuck in.

Some noise going round that we've been given permission to persue Vidal, and also spoken to Pedro's representatives/agent I think

He would be a good signing for Arsenal. I've read that his valuation is around the £15 million mark - not bad.

He'd be a good signing but we're rather well stocked in the wide positions.

I'd prefer to concentrate on a central midfielder like Vidal and/or a defensive midfielder like Carvalho/Scheiderlin and a 'proper' striker, basically an upgrade to Giroud.

Get those and we'll be challenging for titles, I feel.

Can't argue with that, so many rumours as usual. We're close ot having a title challenging team and I hope we go the extra step to do so this time.

Worryingly, some papers are reporting that ODL wants to see how fit anyone is before deciding what 'qualidee' players he'll be going for.

It's beyond doubt that we'll pick up our fair share of injuries and that we need a Schneiderlin/Carvalho. A top striker wouldn't go amiss either... We have the funds, why not go for it for a change??

Me too - wouldn't put it past Wenger though. He seems to have a penchant for Utd cast offs!

I wonder what the little boy inside of van Persie makes of his move to Turkey.

If Van Persie left normally without being a D**k, I think Wenger would have had him back as a back up striker. I feel the same about Ashely Cole.

Never burn your bridges because you never know when you'll need a club. I'm looking at you as well Nasri.

Cesc wasn't a dick.

He could still come back, of course.

Cesc could have come back & Wenger did show interest didn't he? I think he had the chance to bring back Song but didn't.

Isnt he going to be on 250k a week there or something?

Small time thinking.
We're Arsenal, we shouldn't be taking back players when they're over the hill and we shouldn't be signing players from our rivals who they can't wait to get rid of either.

...and he'll only be paying 15% tax there instead of the 45% he's been paying here. Nice pension if you can get it.

To be fair to him I don't think it was just about the money. I just think the little boy gave him the wrong advice.

We seem to be having a right good clear out so there might be a few more to tempt you with.

Well, that's Schneiderlin out of the picture, we definitely need competition in the DM position. Carvalho will do nicely, ODL.

Walcott may do a job through the middle but only has one year left, I believe. Sign him long-term and/or get a replacement pronto!

So, Sanogoals may go to Ajax on loan, wouldn't be a bad thing. His style fits well within the Ajax way, where they depend on someone who can hold the ball and work with his back to goal. It may well boost his value if he has a good season there, someone like Villa or Sunderland will put in a 5/10 million bid for him.

- No Schneiderlein - probably too expensive for what he is worth and not a massive upgrade on Coquelin

- No Schweinsteiger - even though it would have been great to bring a calibre of player who has won literally everything there is to win in the game and been good for Coquelin to learn from. Instead ODL decides to keep Arteta

- Higuain's a possibility might be overpriced for what we could have paid for him a few years back. Would still be an improvement over Giroud imo

- Benzema is the one we should be going all out for. Whether ODL can convince RM to sell and Benzema that we're the right club for him is another question

As good a signing Cech has been for us, we're due a massive signing this summer to make a statement of intent going into the new season. We have the money so no excuses. Really hope that player is Benzema but seems we're a long way off from making the signing.

I think Arteta's new contract is giving us a fairly big clue that there will be no DM coming in.
And in other news a new 5 year contract for Jenkinson today!

This is going to be a disappointing transfer window yet again. Whilst others properly strengthen their teams and squads, Arsene makes do and mends. At the very least we need a proper striker - Giroud and the rest don't cut it.

I don't know why anyone's surprised. We won the FA Cup & came 3rd in the PL = therefore we have the quality!
