Unfortunately not me but it's surley good to know that all of my fellow Haydens are also a tad bit disappointed and are on the same page as me when it comes to our thoughts!

With Iwobi cementing his place at LW, can Sanchez thrive in the striker position whilst Giroud is out?

Always thought Sanchez is better finishing off chances and can be sloppy with his passing at times.

"Will Arsenal improve tactically? By Michael Cox - Tactical expert.

Forget the relative lack of signings, Arsenal have a perfectly adequate squad aside from needing cover at the back because of current injury problems. This might be a slight simplification, but Arsenal finished above the traditional title challengers last season because their squad was better, but dropped out of the title race before Leicester and Tottenham because their organisation was poorer.

Arsenal remain thrilling in possession and play better passing combinations than anyone in the league but, when attempting to regain possession. they lack an obvious game plan. Last season they didn't offer Leicester's compactness or Tottenham's pressing and when Arsenal attempt to win the ball in advanced positions, they tend to close down in ones and twos, rather than as a unit.

Granit Xhaka should improve Arsenal's ball-winning capabilities in the midfield but he needs to be the catalyst for a wider improvement. The overall level of organisation in the Premier League will improve with the introduction of Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte, meaning Arsene Wenger must adjust Arsenal's approach."

I think this is what Gazidis meant when he said we must improve internally within the club than just simply sign players.

Oh and Mertesacker has just been named club captain even though he will be out for half the season.

Agree to an extent, but Arsene has shown a real reluctance to adapt his tactics. Everyone knows the first substitution will be made in the 70 minute etc. So I have no hopes in that department.

Having said that if we had a 'van Persie' or 'Henry' we would have won the league last season.

Just checked out the BBC football gossip page for the Sunday papers. Apparently we are considering buying a 15 yr old! That's all the gossip.

Surprised to see Holding instead of Monreal in the centre. 2 English centre backs in the Arsenal XI. When was the last time that happened?

Good awareness from Iwobi and Ramsey to open up the space.

Also that tackle from Le Coq to start off the move 👏🏽

Need a proper regular pen taker. We have been woeful if you include last season with pens. We didn't get that many but managed to screw the 2 out of the 3 we did get and now today. Can't be having the fouled player taking it nonsense. Our first home pen since the season before last btw.

Game on now.

Nothing as predictable as being an Arsenal supporter.

You knew this would happen. Same shit, different season.

August matches are a write off as far as I'm concerned.
