Mustafi was always going to come, Both clubs were just playing hard ball. Just glad we stomped up the cash in the end. Guess Chambers will be out on loan and i can see evans type Cb come in as well. https://youtu.be/XLtNFYo_fno Doubt another CB will come in tbh with Gabriel back sooner than expected. At least Wenger buckled under fan and media pressure. Without it I doubt we would have made these two signings. |

This is promising news at last. Not exactly what we hoped for at the start of the window but it's better than nothing. Perez offers something completely different to Giroud so should be a good signing.

No idea if he's any good or not, but on the Arsenal Mania board here's a perspective from a Deportivo fan:
http://arsenal-mania.com/forum/threa....28664/page-53 For a team that finished 15th, I guess 17 goals and 9 assists is pretty damn good

Perez sounds like a panic buy with less than a week of the window left. If he was top quality we wouldn't need to check Youtube to find out about him.

Very pleased to land mustafi, should be a great partnership with Kos.
Re Perez, not seen him play but I wouldn't be surprised if Wenger stuck him on the wing. Also he isn't the man who springs to mind when Wenger mentions the 'super quality' players he wants for the squad. |

As for Mustafi please let this happen. I'm still terrified Mourinho will continue his reign of terror against Wenger by selling him Phil Jones

Well despite the shoddy way they came about (two games into the season when we picked up 1 point from a possible 6), I do have high hopes for these signings.
Giroud just isn't good enough for a top four club. He's better suited to a side like Stoke. He's too slow and too predictable. |

Happy with what I've seen from Holding, good back up with potential to become a good CB. Hopefully, we'll use him in the cups so he can get experience and it would be great not to have to struggle for 2nd in the CL and win the first few games so we can give him a game or two when there's no pressure. Time to start the season and catch up from now on. |

Re Perez I'm sure we would have all preferred a Lacazette or Morata but for his stats last season and attributes he seems a good buy. Let's hope he hits the ground running in the PL. Hopefully this improves the atmosphere from the fans from here on in. |

At least we're not sitting here on deadline day, watching Skysports as the minutes count down, waiting in vain for the signings we need to plug the gaps.

Perez isn't a panic buy.
Not first choice, or second choice for that matter, doesn't = panic buy. He's a good buy that can do a job for us and, you never know, may turn out to be a very good buy. |

Of the two, I'm weirdly more pleased with Perez. He's extremely fast but unlike Theo, he can control a ball and run at the same time
![]() He should give us genuine counter attacking options. Mustafi - dunno. How many CBs have got better after joining us? Only possibly Koscielny? And I was amazed with how good Kos was for France in the Euros, better than he'd played for us all season. Might have been a lucky but good move to give him the captain's armband as otherwise he's a bit too introverted? Anyhow let's hope the duo pass their medicals and the cheque doesn't bounce. |

The media don't seem to think Perez will be a good signing. Saying he's a panic buy. I think the media are a bit peeved that Wenger has gone out & got 2 possibily good players. They were all waiting for wednesday & when nothing happened, they would have crucified him. Now they can't.

Just noticed this from yesterday: Quote:
David Ornstein @bbcsport_david Aug 25 Is he saying we have a seperate fund to spend on a marquee signing if we want?
@GeoffArsenal @AST_arsenal AFC have funds to spend huge if AW wants player & deal is possible, as he said. But outside that, this is budget |

I heard today Arsene Wenger will making more signings
And will be busy from now until the end of the transfer window His wallet must have been full of dust when he opened it this week |

Is he saying we have a seperate fund to spend on a marquee signing if we want? It's crazy we've not bought another Ozil or Sanchez and we're left looking on youtube again at our new signing to see if he's any good. There is no reason why the club can't be spending £50m a year on a player. The only issue is the manager can't bring himself to dump the ones who didn't make the grade. How are the following still being paid by the club? Wojciech Szczęsny Mathieu Debuchy Kieran Gibbs Carl Jenkinson Serge Gnabry - Hopefully will be better after his Olympics. Theo Walcott Joel Campbell - Probably the brightest thing we've had on the pitch in years. |

It doesn't really matter how many players we get in, we're still stuck with the same flipping manager!!!

I heard that too, that he will be crazy busy over the next few days. This is welcome, but it takes time for players to gel and get used to each other.
