might someone be leaving though? Bit late in the window to do anything other than a loan deal though.
I've seen Perez a bit as I watch la Liga sometimes. I think he's a bit like a Spanish Vardy, probably better technique. He might well not be as dodgy with his opinions about other cultures (how well does Vardy get on with Okazaki? )I'm sure we could have got Mustafi earlier which would have given him time to learn the set up with Koscielny. CBs are always partnerships. I've seen him play as a sub for Germany. Didn't notice him much, which could be a good thing. Wish them well. |

Yeah...I wasn't even having a dig at Wenger. I was just pointing out that I didn't think he would be signing anyone else before he confirmed it himself.
We need to make up 5 points, so no more home losses agains the main rivals, and a shock result at their ground required. Top 4 is and will always be the main target. |

Totally unwarrented though predictable comment. Yes, he finally signed the players that we need, but late (and arguably, Perez is 3rd, maybe 4th choice as Higuain/Morata would have been better signings).

At least you can have a reasonable debate/discussion with Elyan.
I'm not sure the manager was going to sign another CB but the Gabriel injury forced his hand. I have to admit I know next to nothing about both players but from what I have read and that, it appears we have got a couple good 'uns. Let's hope so anyway. As for players departing, Chambers will be sent on loan. Mixed feeling about this but if it gets him more game time then it can't be a bad thing. It's no good playing once in a while and expecting him to be a world beater when called upon. There's a good player in there I'm sure but needs to get his confidence back. We have to submit the squad for the CL soon don't we? |

We're close to signing a Paraguayan midfielder called Miguel Almiron apparently
http://www.90min.com/posts/3692789-a...last-gasp-deal What do you mean "Who?" Dont we have enough midfielders?

Wilshere falls into the attacking/creative midfielder bracket for Wenger I think, and he usually plays one or maybe two of those at the most. It puts him in competition with Ramsey, Cazorla and Reine-Adelaide. Not too many really, but Cazorla is obviously first choice, and if he stays fit, the rest will be on the bench mostly.
If he is being allowed to go on loan, it wouldn't surprise me to see another midfielder come in. After all, we lost Flamini, Rosicky and Arteta, and brought in Only Xhaka. To be honest, I think his game is more suited to the slower game in Spain or Italy. His vision, intelligence, and passing accuracy is superb. I think a more slow, deep-lying playmaker role like Modric does for Real Madrid would suit him down to the ground - and he'd suffer fewer impact injuries. He could then bring that into the England team - where international football is also less frantic than the PL. Good luck to him anyway. I think he'd be a big hit on the continent - if he can stay fit. |

Hasn't got much time to sort himself out a club. He definitely needs games and to stay fit. There is a joke going around that it has to be a loan deal as he would never pass a medical! I do wonder just how much he feature's in the clubs future plans. The press seem to be saying he's asked to go out on loan rather than the club pushing him out.
At the top of is game, one of the best players in the country but he's played so infrequently he's slipped down the pecking order everywhere. |

Loans seem to have become a new fitness thing. Liverpool have recently sent long-time injured Jon Flanagan out on loan to get some match fitness. We don't have the time or patience to get him up to speed on our own time. The Sakho going on loan has been cited as for fitness reasons, too. He hasn't played in a few months because of the suspension and an injury. The fitness thing is most likely a lie to cover up him falling out with Klopp, but it's still being used. I don't think he's going now but I think Phil Jones was also rumoured to be going on loan for fitness reasons.
Loans can't be recalled until transfer windows now so they're gone until January. For players like Flanagan and Wilshere, if they're in the manager's plans but have had bad injury problems then a loan until January could be useful. It could also just be used to put him in the shop window as is often used already on players you can't find a buyer for yet. |

I think the point you raise there is probably the main issue. Is this to get him fit or a precursor to getting rid of him permanently? The other issue is that it seems it's Wilshere asking to go out on loan. I do wonder if AW has told him he's not in his plans.

He'll want to play so he gets his England place. Allardyce has made it very clear that if someone isn't playing they won't get picked. |

I'll admit to being a bit torn about it. I like his attitude on the pitch and he's a great talent no doubt. On the other side he's played so rarely the good bits are few and far between. Wouldn't like to see him loaned out to another PL side in any event.,

Lucas Perez said in his interview that Arsenal showed an interest in him at the start of the transfer window - so maybe it wasn't such a panic buy afterall. Not saying he was our first choice, as quite obviously he wasn't, but it seems he was always on our list of potential strikers.
Considering the Championship's finest, Villa, paid almost as much as we did for a striker today, I'd say we got a good deal. If Lucas doesn't set the world on fire then we haven't really lost much in the gamble. Though personally I think he'll be successful here. |

Yep, I think he'll be a good signing. There's always that chance he doesn't quite live up to expectations, but at £17m that's a snip in today's market.

Going to be interesting to see how we line up and how often Giroud starts.

Where will Wilshere go do you think? he shouldn't go to Juventus as he probably won't get a game, he should go to a club he will play every week without fail someone like Burnley or West Brom.
