I think he did look into a big name in Griezmann - but the player didn't want to move at the moment for family reasons. I think we would have been prepared to pay the big bucks if he had been agreeable to a move. But we definitely spoke to him as he said so himself. He said he spoke with Wenger during the Euros, and Wenger asked him if he'd fancy it, but he said he has a young family who are settled in Spain at the moment, and he doesn't feel the time is right.
Not sure if that falls under tapping up.
