He scored two in the league cup against Forest. He's not exactly been showered with opportunities though.

that as well as the 2 mentioned above. Poor guy. No wonder he played on despite his injury, probably making it worse in the process as he's desperate to play.
Leaves Alexis and Theo having to play every game, or at least until Giroud's toe heals.
Wouldn't be Arsenal without the injuries

Giroud came in the second half in the EFL Cup game. He should give us a plan B when we're finding it difficult to break teams down.

Good to see the manager giving his support for safe standing at grounds. I didn't see that coming but was on the back of the West Ham v Chelsea game. He must have been asked about it at the presser. Brighton are looking to have an area for such a scheme at their ground if legislation allows it. That's the big stumbling block. I like to think we have moved on from the terrible tragedy at Hillsborough. Controlled numbers and strict safety measures in place, then it can be done.

Perez out for 6-8 weeks. Agree with Wenger when he says the challenge on him was stupid.

Giroud and Ramsey back in the squad for tomorrow. Cazorla, Walcott (minor hamstring) and Monreal will have fitness tests and could miss out.

Injuries are starting to build up now. Hope they're not as bad as previous seasons.

Up for safe standing to improve the atmosphere. Hopefully the West Ham fans at the Olympic Stadium being idiots doesn't stop it from going through.

Jermaine Pennant has quit his Singaporean team because of a pay cut.

Club chairman: "He's had a huge impact on the club and Singapore football. Someone of his stature and frankly quite iconic status engenders an excitement and vibe which was much needed for Singapore football in the early stages of the season."

Why on eath did Wenger let this iconic player go?

Yeah, a few injuries stacking up. Hopefully not the start of a trend. Didn't know Walcott had picked up an injury.

I take it it's 12.30 kick off today. We ain't been brilliant in early starts in recent years but at least its not on BT Sport! Monreal and Walcott out. Ramsey on the bench. Not a hugely strong looking line up today.

Good chance for Gibbs to get his place back today. Monreal hasn't been as good this season.

wondering where the goals are coming from today, unless Alexis scores. We'll miss Santi again. How long is he (officially) out for?

Cazorla, Walcott and Monreal miss out through injury.

Elneny, Ox and Gibbs come in. This will be a test of the squad today to see if it's as good as people say it is.

Me too. Especially as Sunderland will defend with 11 men behind the ball.

1-0! Sanchez after a brilliant Ox cross!

Don't like to complain when we're winning but it's all a bit complacent and lazy against a truly atrocious team. We should be going for the juggler.
Fully expect one to richochet in off Defoe's arse to get them a point.

I know what you mean. Thry are truly terrible but you can see us conceding a fact goal somewhere along the line. Could do with killing it off.

Atkinson us not giving us anything either.

1-1...we need to wake up. Far too casual. So many chances to kill them off.
