10 from 12 points will secure 2nd spot no matter what. Swansea will be tricky. We scraped a draw at home against them last season so need to be on our game. A win will virtually guarantee top 3 with Sunderland and WBA to play at home. Just don't get beat at Old Trafford next week, and even if we do get beat then it's not a disaster in terms of finishing top 3 (as long as we beat the above teams) but really don't want to lose again there in the league.
Tonight won't be easy but the way we are playing should get us over the line. 2-1

Can't see us losing at OT as they're not playing great at the moment plus Rooney might be out and he always plays well against us but stranger things have happened.

Swansea's style of play should suit us well and I can see us score a few against them and get the 3 points. We should also win our two other home games even if Sunderland's fighting for the points. Away at ManU is the only tricky game, but we're in good form and they're not really.

Citeh still have Swansea away and Southampton at home and they're both still chasing the Europa League as well and will need the points (Swansea even more so after tonight, I hope...). As 'smaller' clubs, the appeal of the EL may spur them on.

All in all, a pretty decent season IF we can finish 2nd and win the FA Cup. With a couple of quality (or qualidee) additions, we may be able to mount a more serious challenge.

Speaking of signings, going by previous seasons, we usually sign at least 1 big player with a few lesser known players/smallish signings. Hopefully this summer will buck the trend and we sign at least 2 big players seeing as our finances are healthy, qualified for CL (hopefully without the need for qualifiers in August) and the new bumper PL TV deal.

Only problem would be tempting these players and their clubs to be willing to sell which we're not great at...

Yes indeed, if we can get two established 'big names', I feel that we'd be up there. As you point out, we do have the finances and can offer CL footy without the nasty qualifiers (although the 'new' EPL money won't start until after next season, I believe). That will help and if the recent history taught us anything, we may well buy the big names, although not necessarily in the positions that we need.

In defense, we can do with a top end CB and we still need to get someone in the holding role. While Coq's doing the business, we shouldn't rely on a chap who was at Charlton when the season started...

Up front, we have plenty of goals although I'd like to see a better 1st team striker than Giroud. The likes of Sanchez, Cazorla, Ozil, Rambo and Walcott will chip in goals and if we get a better front man, we'll get (even) more goals from him too.

Speaking of Walcott, it would be interesting to see what happens with him over the next few months. If he doesn't commit to a new deal, I can't see him staying, which would add to the considerable funds already available and make space in the front line for a Top Notch attacking player. Should he stay, it would make sense to use him more and in a central role. He's got goals and bags of pace but hasn't played as much for some reason. Still a very useful player, I feel...

2 cup final tickets booked, huzzah!

Tonight, I see a reasonably comfortable win, 2-0 or 3-1.

OT will be interesting, in terms of team selection and performance. Man U & Citeh have nothing to play for save positions and a place in the team next year, so will be up for it. I won't be surpised to see our performances trail off somewhat in the fortnight leading to Wembley.

Well done on the tickets! My OH is going, alas no ticket for me

Team seems to be picking itself at the moment which is a rare treat as an Arsenal fan.
I can't remember the last time we were so settled.

I hope for a good 2-0 win, the way we're playing it should be easy on paper.

Total bore fest according to 5 alive. Swansea happy to contain and show no inclination to do much else. Arsenal slow build up. Has a real end of season feel to it.

Yet to test Fabianski first half. Zero shots on target.

Boring game so far. Not enough desire, need walcott's pace. Get Giroud off and Wellbeck on maybe?

It's picked up to be fair. Swansea playing with 10 men behind the ball now.

Just about sums it up. Abysmal first half. Improved in the 2nd but didn't take the chances and they get us on the break. Sucker punch.

Monreal didn't do enough to put Gomis off the header.
