Making up for last season's sluggish start, yeah right.

All those tipping us for the title can move on now. That pressure's been lifted off us now at least.

Teams that win titles do not usually lose to West Ham at home.

I think I've read this book before. Defence looked as nervous as hell after being so solid last season. 16 year old kid looking totally comfortable for them in the middle of the park as well. Nowhere near good enough.

Cech caught out for both goals...did he even dive for the 2nd? Ospina would be getting it in spades now if he'd been playing...oh well only the first game, plenty of time to go!

Everyone knows how we play. We struggle to adapt and its pretty much the same season after season.

Wenger: I told you lot I was against the season starting a week early. My players weren't ready. We played with the handbrake on in the first half. Overall, we were unlucky. I believe in the spirit of this team

Our type of football requires goals. We don't often win 1-0 and hold out, we generally need to score more than the other team. This should have been addressed before purchasing a 32 year old goalkeeper for £10 million.

Too many wishy-washy individuals in that team.

If Giroud's the answer to our striking problems, what's the question? He won't win you a Champions League, let alone Premier League title.

West Ham played under no pressure and it showed. When the pressure's on Arsenal, they just can't deliver.

I normally don't ever think we'll win, but I agree - I have a feeling we'll be on fire!

Let's hope that doesn't jinx us now
Just got in and heard the score.

What do I know - obviously nothing.

Not too concerned about Cech despite being at fault for both goals. Far more worrying was the complete impotence in attack. Same as last season, same as the year before, etc. Bored of it now.

Didn't see the match but listened to the comm. I just think we didn't take West Ham seriously at all. Arrogance and complacency big time. Perhaps the pre-season was too successful and we thought everything was pucker. Doesn't matter who we are playing, home or away, we have to earn wins and not just do the fancy flicks and back heels and just think the opposition will roll over. I hope this is a wake up call but fundamentally nothing will change as long as Wenger is the manager.

Ospina will be No 1 before the end of the season. I said on here last month that it was about the only position on the pitch which didn't need some improvement.

No ond turned up, they were all poor. People like Ramsey, Ozil and Coq looked like they were on holiday. In think its harsh to blame Cech for both goals. Both were down to bad defending imo.

Maybe this needed to happen to show Aw he needs to spend, and quick.

No harm done. You only need to win 22, maybe 23 games a season to finish in the Top four. Take the other 15 easy, ensure that you draw a few of them and you are fine.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have already earmarked the games they will try in and win in and the ones where they'll have the day off and this season in the cycle, most of those Will be before December.

The impression was that Cech was damned if he stayed on his line and damned if he didn't for the first goal. The second goal was a bit more his fault from what I can gather. Giroud had a stinker. Cazorla was shunted out on the left (to accommodate Ozil) rendering him ineffectual.

Actually we should have been worried as soon as West Ham stuck a 16 year old in their line up. Paul Allen (1980 cup final) Shearer, Rooney and now Oxford.

Pretty much. It such a shame we have to lose for things to happen.

Bang on the money as ever Cissy.

Then again if Arsenal don't put together a creditable title challenge this time around Wenger's got no excuses.

Still expect the team as ever to put a nice winning run together.
