We've been here 9 billion times before.
I know! Supporting Arsenal sure isn't for the faint hearted.
But today, we came through, phew!

Doubt we'll beat Liverpool playing like that

I don't think Liverpool are much of a side really. If they can create that amount of opportunities then they're well in with a chance. They just have to be more clinical.

Koscielney's method for dealing with a shot on his goal:

Make yourself as narrow as possible, protect the family jewels, close your eyes and hope for the best.

IMO after what happened yesterday we need a new DM, Coq was VERY lucky not to be dismissed

I think getting booked comes with the territory of the role. I do agree however that he wasn't intelligent enough after the booking. He must have been told at half time to be careful.

What is it with our players just watching the man take a shot? Nobody runs at him. Nobody spreads themselves in front of him. They just... well they just stand there.

Great goal from Giroud.

Missed the match yesterday, but reading here seems like we dodged a bullet. But a win is a win, let's hope we can put up a stronger show against Liverpool.

Agreed, Coq is still learning the role and he is the best DM we've had for a while, much better than the likes of Song and Denilson we've had previously. Still think he should have been more careful after his yellow but he'll learn from it, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Regarding blocking shots, if you watch the replay of West Ham's second goal, Koscielny blocked the Cech's view and Cech ends up gesturing to Koscielny maybe saying his view was obscured. I think the defenders are more weary of this now but it doesn't help having this uncertainty for long range shots.

Too many players are off the pace - Cech, Koscielny, Coq to name a few however they can only improve and get sharper with more games.

Doubt we'll beat Liverpool if they have a ref like they did tonight.

Otherwise I'm confident we'll win.

Poor decisions, by all accounts.I suspect the referee will join ours from the weekend (Coq block!) on the naughty bench for a week.

But there's nothing to see here; Coutinhio aside there's nothing to fear, save ourselves!

Looking forward to the game actually; missed West Ham (what a shame) as I'm abroad at present but I'm back on Sunday, so let's get that first home win and properly into the groove.

There's a short tv documentary about him - on the BBC I think.

He goes back there every year. Crime-ridden hell hole at the arse end of Chile. He meets youngsters and pays for footballs, boots, and other things so the kids can at least play football.

Disappointed to hear nothing about attempts to sign a striker. I feel a lack of goals is still a major issue.

I'm resigned to no players being signed from now until the end of the transfer window. Another season being short of the players we need to truly challenge.

I wonder if Walcott is being saved for if/when Giroud has a loss of form or gets injured. Expected him to be playing alot more than he is at the moment although it's early days.

Well I saw the news about Pedro to Chelsea. Other managers are a lot better at identifying their team's weaknesses and addressing them.

Okay the Benzema rumour looks to have some legs. I am rather hoping it doesn't go ahead. Vastly overpriced for a slight upgrade on Giroud and that may be debatable. RM would be mugs to turn that kind of money down for a 15 goals a season player. Bloody madness.
