Wenger will be bringing a striker in on deadline day. 100%.

Heard it here first.

If not before deadline day.

And it won't be a panic buy, it will be one that he has been working on for ages.

Good weekend so far apart from the City result.

Chelsea lose, Liverpool lose, Afellay and Adam banned against us when we play Stoke next.

Just need the tiny Totts to lose now and Wenger to sign a bloody striker!

Probably some duff cast off from our rivals.

Still, it could be worse, we could be Chelsea

Indeed, assumed pretty much home wins apart from us obviously, so gaining 3 pts on Pool and Chelski is great indeed!

Not bothered about Spuds, no need to anyway!

Very scratchy still but a welcome win all the same. Over playing it around the area still. I would suggest Walcott and Giroud both start together as the former is not a centre forward but could benefit from having the mercurial Frenchman to link up with.

There have been some freaky results in the PL thus far and notably the home wins have been thin on the ground. I guess it will settle down but goes to show that any team is capable of beating anyone.

Alexis is still not match fit, imo.

Watch a striker being panic bought in the next 48 hours.

It won't be who we need, won't be a great update on what we already have and, in all likelihood will eventually be sold in the next couple of years having dismally underperformed.

Inexcusable management but really, who is surprised?
This sums it up perfectly.

Some guy from the French league I reckon. That's normally the last place desperate managers go when all else fails.

Just wondering who people would actually like to see come in between now and Tuesday. Lots of talk on TV about how Arsenal need power through the middle and to that end, I wondered whether it would be worth either bringing back Alex Song or trying to steal Wanyama away from Spurs.

Any new on Ozil's injury? I ask because Jake Humphrey apparently tweeted something along the lines of "wouldn't it be interesting if Ozil wasn't injured but left out to become part of a major transfer deal". Don't know if that is complete rubbish or if anyone else heard anythung.?

Never heard of that, seems unlikely Ozil will leave imo.

He was either trolling or hinting that Ozil might tempt Benzema into joining us. I doubt very much doubt he'd be sold.

Can't see him being sold myself but I did wonder why he tweeted it.

Regarding strikers; one of Benzema, Cavani or Higuain would be nice.

Re DM; please please please not Song. He is not the answer to our midfield anymore. Wanyama/Bender would strengthen the squad and provide competition/cover for Coquelin.

Plenty of players out there if Arsenal stopped dithering and got the cheque book out rather than waiting for a last minute bargain as usual.

I'm not sure losing Ozil as part of a deal for any of those three could be said to improve our squad though. Sure we'd start converting a lot more chances but we'd be losing a hell of a lot as well.

I hope it doesn't happen. Just pay the cash (even if it's over the odds) upfront.

Exactly. Agree on those players as well, though I'm skeptical of Cavani. But I can't really think of a side that leaves it's business to the very end and goes on to have a really great season.

Been a bit of a weird season for the "big clubs" so far (apart from City).

Home wins have been thin on the ground too, whatever happened to home advantage?

UEFA have brought forward the deadline for submitting CL squads to midnight the same day. Making it 6pm gives CL clubs enough time to register and submit the squad list. Doesn't help that the deadline is during rush hour though!

Meanwhile over at Arsenal with just over 24 hours to go... *tumbleweed*

That's cos there's absolutely no one in the world available who could improve us.

We have to laugh. Clearly thought he'd get his man Benzema as RM would cast him adrift - the way he picked up Ozil and Sanchez. No other targets were identified and pursued. Come final day of the transfer window, everyone left in the trolley dash is overpriced or rubbish or both.
He probably thinks the real OG will start scoring again soon and we'll be good for the top 4.
