Bugger not signing a single outfield player, striker in particular.
Now means that we will finish fourth, having missed a hatful of one on one's every match, spurned multiiple chances and with a dreadful strike conversion rate. Whereas, even with one signing, we had an opportunity to finish fourth with a bit of class, plenty of goals and some value for money. |

AST have issued a statement regarding the transfer window. Quote:
"Arsenal are in a very strong financial position... and it is of course disappointing that the transfer window has closed with just the signing of Petr Cech," http://www.teamtalk.com/arsenal/9976038/-?
"Arsenal have built a strong squad and just one or two more good additions would have strengthened the chances of winning a first title in 11 years. No one wants Arsenal to buy players just for the sake of it, but we do want to see the money being invested to make the club stronger. "This isn't an issue that affects just one transfer window and seems to indicate a wider structural issue. In recent years Arsenal have overhauled both their Academy and their medical set-up. We urge the board to now open a full review into its arrangements for scouting and purchasing players. A review of this type is a good governance practice and can only help Arsenal to become a stronger club. The AST will be raising this with the Arsenal board. "Now that the window is closed the squad is as it is. Arsenal have a strong squad that has recently won silverware and we urge all fans to get behind the team over the rest of the season." |

It's on Sanchez's shoulders to carry Arsenal this season (again) but there is still a chance Welbeck will come back and start scoring goals. If anyone can make a striker, Wenger can.
RVP was such a fool to leave. |

Perhaps you'd like to tell the likes of Jeffers, Chamakh, Park Chu Young, Gervinho, Bendtner, Aliadiere, Sonogo, Cambell and Adebayor (and those are just the ones off the tip of my tongue) that joining Arsenal would turn them into world beating strikers because they all seem to have missed the message. |

Apparently, we are the only team in the Top 5 leagues who didn't sign an outfield player...
Wenger made me agree with Piers Morgan, I will never forgive him that. |

Well that wins the most bizarre, out of touch comment of the month.

Ok, you have to have talent and a good work ethic, but I think Welbeck may have that (maybe). He might just come good.
As for RVP... I don't think winning the PL once was worth him ruining his career and ending it prematurely. He would still be playing at Arsenal and may have won the league with them too |

So gooners make plans to proteset, then do not turn up. This is why the board and Aw get away with this shit, Fans all talk and no action.

They will listen when fans stop paying season tickets.
But even then they will find others to fill the gap. |

We have a very strong squad already. Just need two or possibly three more to refresh it.
I have confidence in the manager that he'll deliver the signings he and his team have been working on for months. Truth is no point getting upset because we all know what is what and where we are. |

So how did this work out for you? But hey wenger knows best. Pains me to say this but Aw clearly likes being a failure as long as the money comes in.

Wenger made me agree with Piers Morgan, I will never forgive him that. The ONLY way I see things will ever change at Arsenal is if we finish 5th or lower in the Premier League, knocked out of UCL Group Stages, knocked out of The FA Cup & League Cup. I think it'll be a good thing with no UCL and having a dreadful season, it would be a wake-up call to the boardroom of Arsenal because the same thing happened to FC Barcelona back in the day... And they came back stronger with huge investments! |

only bright side - at least Wenger didn't lumber us with another of his deadline day cr*p signings on a long, lucrative contract.
I read recently that he said he'd thought about quitting, then became too stressed at the thought of what he'd do with his life if he did. That about sums up what is wrong. That should not be his decision. I remember when I was 100% sure that he wasn't the real deal. I was in France and heard his banal ramblings as an expert pundit on a France game. I'd been expecting insight. Mais non. And the club let him moonlight for €1m a year as a TV pundit. Don't like Frankie Boyle but his Ally McLeod joke is pretty good and applies equally to OGL - "he thought tactics were a new kind of mint". |

Ronald De Boer at Ajax (where he is now on loan) recently said he had 'no useful qualities'. |

One theory doing the rounds which won't find favour with everyone here I know! It is that it is nothing to do with money or being unable to find available players but Wenger actually not wanting to do it. The theory being that the board and owner are quite happy with the current status quo. Wenger is under no pressure from them at all. If he did go out and buy the two or three missing players we need he would have no excuse not to compete. He's protecting himself by not buying.

I wonder what sort of contract he rewarded Sanogo with.

He often thinks that as he sits there stroking his Premier League winner's medal that he never would have won with us.
he may have a leage winners medal but imagine what he could have won if he stayed and we still bought Ozil and Sanchez. |
