Daily Mail, but wouldn't be surprised at this. Wenger caning the players at the training ground. Shame no one in that squad would dish out home truths like Keown and Parlour did to Wenger.

Of course he ripped into them he is going to miss his target and extra money for the board.

AW should acknowledge he is responsible too and made mistakes

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger who has celebrated 19 years in charge at the Gunners, says defender Laurent Koscielny is set to be out for three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury against Olympiakos in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are also still out.

Well, isn't that a pip?!?!

Woeful management that we didn't get anyone in either this or other windows. It's painful to see the likes of Khedira, Morata and Higuain do so well at other clubs when a deal with us was there to be done.

We're now dangerously short in defense, having to rely on Coq and Chambers against ManU, with no notable cover on the bench. Gabriel's good but not sure about the pairing with Merts at all. Kos is key and now out for god knows how long! 3 weeks in Arsene years is a long time!

ODL needs to go. Squad is bare and disjointed amd he's to blame. Only results and silverware can paper the cracks and I'd like nothing more than to be proved wrong. Can't see it happening though...

2 of the 3 weeks are an International Break.

He's losing it. The typical defensive pre match press conference from Wenger after a defeat.

Mail article too, have to say I do have sympathy with him over the Mourhino stuff. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...selection.html

It's no wonder he was going to end the presser. The follow up question probably would have been "do you feel you are unsackable regardless of your selection decisions and results"

Andy Burton is one journo who isn't afraid to ask the questions that needs answering.

Yes, that's assuming he's out for 3 weeks. History tells a different story... Wasn't Wilshire out for 3 week initially??

Mourhino maybe a ****, but he is not wrong. Do not the need to have sympathy for AW. It is great the media sre sticking it to him, about time too. More of it please.

Not saying he's wrong but Mourhino's is being a total d1ck at present. I'd rather ignore him and concentrate on the other stuff of which there's plenty to ask.

Mourinho is a dick, but I hope he keeps it up because it really riles Wenger and he needs to be. It has been too cosy for him for a long time now. There is absolutely no pressure on him to make progress in the League or CL.

I think it's great that the press and Mourinho are winding him up. He needs to realise that he isn't the only man who can manage Arsenal, and if he fails he'll be replaced.
Fergie got to the point where nobody questioned his loses or his team selections either. Wenger has also reached it, which is terrible.

Hopefully if people keep badgering him he'll change his ways. But I doubt it.

I doubt if anything will change. He's felt the heat before, remember the "why are you looking at me" press conference? It blows over eventually and we're still left with him.

Good article by Gary Neville on what's lacking in the team to win the title

The difference between Wenger and Fergie is that the latter would never let the slide last as long as it has. It is a big achievement to win back-to-back FA Cups, however the performance in the League and CL has been woeful for at least half a decade.

That's a superb piece of writing and hopefully Wenger has read it and took it in. Some hopes.

'This Neville.. has he managed for thirty years in football?'

The only reason Mourinho is doing this at the moment is to attempt to divert the media away from how crap his lot have been this season. He's not doing it because he believes any of it...Wenger is just a convenient scapegoat at the moment

Don't disagree with any of this. I still hope he keeps it up. It is stunning arrogance to finish 10+ points of the top of the Premier League to routinely not make the latter stages of the CL and to only invest in ageing goalkeeper with exactly the same tactics as before.

On a separate note, Chelsea are being torn apart by Southampton. It's so annoying that we didn't get anything from the Bridge.

Really don't know which Arsenal will turn up tomorrow. Will we play with the handbrake on? I'll go for a draw!

Contrast Southampton's performance tonight to ours. They were spirited, organised, clinical and determined. Everything we are not these days.

We beat Leicester though

As for tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised if we put a performance in, or if we get absolutely spanked - such is being an Arsenal fan.

The only difference is I think Man Utd have a better ability to score goals, but if we can defend properly we might get something.

Yeah though didn't see the game but get what you are saying. It's like everything we do has to be technically correct with the precision passing when sometimes you just have to show a bit more drive and be more direct. I can see how the match tomorrow will pan out. Tippy tap sideways and backwards passing. Plenty of possession, zero shooting from outside the area. No width. United will pack their box and catch us on the break.
