They will get De Boer. Can not see Klopp going there right now, pool are a mess no top man would want to go there.
Think we may get Pep anyways. On topic: Great win for the boys. |

After moaning about Wenger due to his farcical tactical changes in the Champions League game, it's nice to see that even with my doubts the team can pleasantly surprise me. That was hell of a solid win. More of that kind of thing, Arsene, can go a long way. Oh, and keep Cech as our keeper for all Premiership and Champions League games. Still, till the next game. Onwards and, hopefully, upwards.

If we play like that in the CL games we could even (gasp) qualify, still, onwards and upwards folks

Not entirely sure why but I think Pep's next stop is at Man United. He would be great at Arsenal though.
![]() I think Klopp is tailor made for you however, when your current boss finally retires. In around 10 years....

Klopp odds on to go to Liverpool now. Congratulations you've got a great manager. Gutted really wanted him at Arsenal.

His managerial form is inconsistent. |

Great response to the midweek debacle. The manager must have read my pre match prediction on here
. We are a bit of a Jekyll and Hide team though and really need to start ALL our games with the same high tempo and not just here and there. Also to keep with the same team pretty much in the CL. Going to see where we are in a few games time before thinking about the title as we have been here so many times before. That said, the title is very open this season and can only see three teams in it. The tiresome tedious interlull now. Grrr. |

Above all, we do not want to go into the Europa League. I'd rather go out completely.

Arsenal is the most schizophrenic team of all. They can play like they did yesterday and then suddenly lose to Zagreb, Olympiacos, Monaco, Chelsea in their current form etc etc. You never know what kind of team is going to turn up.
Based on their form yesterday, they are title contenders, but then Wenger might change 6 players and put Ospina in goal and it's all over again. |

Based on what? A yo yo stint at a 2nd rate German club, then two good seasons with Dortmund in the Bundesliga, before again suffering a huge dip in form and results.
His managerial form is inconsistent. I like his beard, the glasses are quite cool and he looks good in luminous yellow kit. He also gives good press, but that may not be quite enough to bring back the Anfield glory years. Not sure about luminous red, either. Of course, you could have said the same thing about Wenger when he joined, absent the beard... Seriously though, Klopp would probably work well within Liverpool's financial restrictions and he'll be interesting, which is always a bonus. But reality check; you win nothing without wonga, these days. Even we struggle badly with that conundrum and we're running with a 60,000 stadium, the highest seat prices in the land, an alleged £200m in the bank and commercial deals coming out of our tucchus. |

Klopp is a good manager and German managers as a general rule tend to be an upgrade, but I wouldn't put him on the same level as the truly great managers.

Truth is, our second string players aren't quite good enough to maintain a serious challenge on the necessary fronts, in the key positions, unless and by sheer force of luck we have a spare Jack or Ox, floating around. I'm talking Ospina, the non existent CDM cover for the Coq (who we'd all completely forgotten about till half way through last season) and Campbell.
This may all be Wenger's fault or he may be performing miracles within a financial structure we don't really understand. |

Because he hasn't shown anything to put him in that league. He had a great season at Dortmund, but they collapsed shortly afterwards and he had no answers. What makes him so great? I cannot put him amongst the great German coaches like Hitzfeld, Heynckes, Low etc. Klopp is a good manager, but he still has a lot to prove in my view.

He won the league two seasons running with a relatively unfancied side in a league that is dominated overwhelmingly by one club and reached the European Cup final the season after. That's hardly one great season - it's three great seasons. In saying that he's not a great manager, you compare him to two men who have had decades in the game to rack up achievements and a man who won the World Cup with one of the deepest talent pools in international football history. Klopp has had one big job and he essentially aced it. He's well on track to having a great career.

Fair enough, he could work out at Liverpool, but I don't think he's much better or any better than Wenger. He is still young though as you say |

I missed the first 30 mins of the game yesterday (the goals) and when i got home i did a double take when i saw the score..thats more like it! The team were great and it was a comprehensive whipping.
![]() Now everyone start praying that Feo comes back from the international break injury free. I'm going to be wincing every time he gets tackled or even starts running. |

main thing about Klopp is his energy, belief and enthusiasm and that he doesn't take "handbrake" performances from his players. If he can get the set up (get rid of committees etc) and players around him at Liverpool (if he joins them) I say watch out. I'd have loved him at Arsenal. He'll may well get Reus, Hummels to join him. As someone who's not fond of Liverpool, I wish Rodgers had stayed! Wasn't v classy the way he found out too was it?
Carlo is resuming work next season. No point getting excited though is there. Only place he def won't go (apart from us!) is Chelsea ![]() Someone said after the hugely enjoyable Utd humiliation would the real Arsenal please show up more often. I think this IS the real Arsenal. Occasional brilliance, frequent complacency and mediocrity, lots of shooting ourselves in the foot then vowing to do better next time. I hope the players now don't believe the hype after their stunning 1st half show vs a poor Utd team, and keep working at playing like that more often but I'm not holding my breath unfortunately. |

Theo seems self confident in his own ability - everyone wants to see him up front for England apparently
.I don't even want to think about what happens if he gets injured, mind you. |
