I remember a year or two back when Bellerin was an unknown and he had to step in for a CL game at the last minute. Researching who he was, the general view seemed to be he was a bit naïve defensively (which he was at the time) but great going forward with an excellent cross. Bellerin being the player he is now, is down to Bellerin, and not because Ramsey 'frees him up'. He's always played in the same way.
Getting back to Ramsey, as I say apart from one super season, he's underperformed for us imo. His passing isn't great, gets caught in possession a lot, and has lost his confidence in front of goal. Yes, he does often put in a shift, which is a good thing, but of all our midfield players, when the 70th minute comes around and the board goes up, I'm hoping it's his number that's coming off, and quite often it is.
As I said, I'd start with AOC ahead of him, and definitely a fit Wilshire, heck, even a fit Rosicky.”
Do you go to games/understand football? I've just read 4 paragraphs of nonsense. Yes 2013/14 Ramsey was immense but just because he's not currently playing at that very very very very very high level doesn't mean he's playing poorly.
Sanchez gave the ball away at least twice last night which led to Bayern chances, is he playing poorly too?
Teamwork is the most important part of a Football...team. Ramsey brings out the best in Bellerin in the same way Coq brings it out of Santi.. Kos brings it out of Per. Someone has to do the graft and certain players complement each other better than others.
What does Chamberlain bring that Ramsey doesn't?
6 League goals in 5 years so not that.
7 League assists in 5 seasons so not that.
Gives the ball away a hell of a lot. (in crucial areas!!)
Doesn't protect his full back.
Gets lost.
Has pace I guess, we'll give him that. Shame he has no idea how to use it.
