You called it and you were right.
Well, I hope we don't get totally annihilated. It's embarrassing enough as it.

Sometimes I wonder why Chambers was ever bought.

Strength in depth are not words we are familiar with.

You can tell Wenger doesn't care about the Leage Cup. Look at the squad rotation...

All part of a bigger plan I think.

Think his decision was made all the more easier when the Ox went off.

Nice to see the away fans in full voice.

From Bayern to this

I think there's 9 changes since that game...are you saying you'd rather have Santi, alexis, ozil etc out there? Surely there better off getting a break?

Of course you're correct I was just expecting the team as is to give a better account of itself, we've still got Cech, Flamini, Giroud etc.

I'm not bothered with making changes or losing. What does bother me is the huge gap in quality between our first team and what we have out tonight. Don't think anyone out there has done themselves any favours whatsoever.

Most of the 'promising' ones are out on loan..you could probably say most of these are u19/u21 level

That's nonsense- most of them are highly experienced internationals

Cech, Gibbs, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Flamini, Giroud, Walcott, Campbell

This looked like a tactical withdrawal from the league cup to free up recovery time during the winter. You don't want that two legged semi final in a season when you are potentially pushing for the league title. Ferguson was a master at doing this.

I was talking about iwobi, kamara, bielik and whatever that other guy was called...we have far more experienced players out on loan

I would be willing to bet that we only won the last round because it was against spuds.

I couldn't give a rats arse about the League Cup. All we need now is for Giroud to get an injury and we are scuppered. Just have to see what the scans return today and hope it's just a week out as far as Walcott is concerned. I suspect the Ox might be out for a bit longer.

to win the PL you need a deep squad. Wenger has assembled a decent first team, but no back up. As usual.
I have no respect for players who don't even try, or who think they just have to turn up to win against 'lesser' opponents, and who only give everything against opponents they deem worthy of their best efforts; and no respect for fans who say competitions are somehow beneath their club.
On a trivial note, I'd say it's pretty hard to have any pride in playing for that shirt though.

Complete shambles... It's clear now more than ever that we're very short in numbers. As other have pointed out, it will only take another injury or two and we've got no chance.

Both injuries could have been avoided, it unforgivable that these seemingly happened as a result of no warm-up, unprofessional to say the least!! I'm hoping that both injuries are not bad, but even without Ox and Wallcott out for a only couple of weeks is bad enough. Giroud's all we have up front now, and midfield is now also looking anaemic.

Three tricky ties coming up, all of which are 'must win' if we have any hope of achieving something. Losing points at Swansea will mean that Spuds could catch up with us in the league, losing points against Bayern will probably result in playing in the Europa League.

All's not looking as good as recent as a week ago, and we've got to bounce back from being trounced by a Championship team with a depleted squad.

What a difference a day makes...

Bad luck with the injuries.

Merson doesn't half talk some shit. I am mystified as to how he gets so much punditry work. He's as thick as a plank.

"Every young player has to start their career. I started my career."

No shit!

Interesting reading that chaps, nice to see no one blaming the Hillsborough pitch like i have read elsewhere (even though it is a brand new Desso).

I predicted an easy Arsenal win even with the squad you put out. We was missing a number of key players but from a Wednesday point of view last night did show that we finally have some depth to our squad to make a push in the Championship.

Last night was our cup final if i'm being honest and as a season ticket holder it made a refreshing change to see Hillsborough packed for once rather than 20,000 empty seats.

Just wish you lot had played in your red and white.

Apparently around three weeks each with Theo's the worst of the two. Mind you in our terms three weeks could mean anything.
