More Jazz From Barcelona

Members of the "Barcelona Jazz Orchestra," (not the Sant Adreau Jazz Orchestra)

This is the Susana Sheiman.& Ignasi Terraza Trio from 2011.
They also contribute to "The Barcelona Jazz Orchestra," (not the Sant Adreau Jazz Orchestra).

The song is "P.S. I Love you," written in 1934 and has recorded by no end of jazz singers, I've got it by several including Diana Krall. But Susana sings this well.

You've got to give it to the Catalonians, they certainly like their jazz.

Here in 2013 she's sharing the vocals with amongst others, Andrea Motis, in a choral performance.

It would appear that they are all contracted to Swit Records.

nice but a bit middle of the roadish ?

Ignasi Terraza is the same guy that usually plays the piano on the Chamorra, Motis, Sant Andrue videos.........and Esteve Pi rings a bell as well. Jesse Davis also guests with Sant Andreu so I guess they all know each other !

I thought this was going to be the old Beatles song !.......

No, they just pinched the title.. The original is a more melodic tune and has much better lyrics.

I've noticed on other videos of Susana's that there are familiar names. Barcelona is not that big a city, so I guess as with jazz musicians elsewhere they go where there's work to be had.

Here she's singing in 2007, an Anita O'Day favourite,

Close Your Eyes.

(Joan Chamorro credited on baritone sax).

I was impressed that she can sing in English with little trace of an accent.
