Will Denise have a big story soon? EE
I really like the character of Denise in EastEnders but she has been a bit underused for a while. Will she get a big story this year? When Denise and Ian were together, Denise was one of the leading ladies and now it feels like she's an extra.

It'll go for the forseeable (when Kat and Alfie leave): Carters Beales Carters Phils Mitchell branch Carters Carol/max Carters |

Is Lola a similar age to Libby? If so, she could have been swapped at birth with Libby, as Denise didn't want anyone to know at the time she was having an affair with a white man.

I think Denise will be a supporting player this year as the Fox focus shifts more to Kim. 2016 will be her year I think, even when Pam St Clement used to talk about iconic beloved Pat ,she would spend months or a year or so being a supporting player in storylines and then eventually having a major storyline. Not saying Denise is at that iconic level, yet, but even the big characters, the Paulines, Peggys, have their major storylines every other year or slightly less

Next year will be Diane Parish' tenth year on the show so it could be a big year for Denise.

Denise has actually been used better under DTC than in recent years, imo. I think she will be a supporting player to Kim at the moment but her alcoholism may be explored, It stopped before it started but could potentially be a very good story for Denise, see her go off the rails. And it would be interesting to see Kim and Shirley supporting Denise.

Indeed! That will be exciting. Unfortunately though, with Claudette introduced I'm not sure if they'll introduce Ada

Another reason why we need Zainab back. You don't need big s/ls if you are integrated into the square, with friends and a life outside your immediate family. Why on earth did they take her out of the Minute Mart and close the B&B, she is now isolated and, I fear, doomed to play second fiddle to Kim.
And a beautiful woman like that would have men queuing up to date her....how unrealistic that Denise always ends up alone or with the psychos and dregs. |

I thought she was dull and pointless. |

Everytime I think a producer will do right by her they don't. She hasn't had her own big sl since Lucas, all her other sls since then, have been other peoples main sls.

Denise may be not in the spotlight compared to Kat and Shirley, but Denise is never not off-screen. DTC is clearly a fan as he has used her a damn sight more than the last two EP's. She's played a small part in the divide of the carters, as she is obviously on Dean and Shirley's side, but she has also playing in a part in getting Kim to come clean more about Vincent and I am sure she will be apart of much more when Vincent reveals himself from the shadows.
I would like a follow-up on her descent into alcoholism and maybe have her reveal to someone that she had a heated spat with Lucy before her death. |

As Libby is Tamwar's age - she was at Oxford Uni with Adam when Lucy and Lauren did their GCSEs so she's a good few years older than Lola |

I don't think Denise is ever going to be a main character and I think her role will be supporting Kim with the whole Vincent storyline . Due to the Laurel alcoholism storyline, I think they'll sideline Denises for the moment.

Denise needs more airtime and she needs something to do. She hasn't done much since splitting up with Ian. I hate how Denise has been reduced to an extra and Kim is getting more airtime than her. Diane Parish deserves better than this.

Denise is definitely supporting Kim at the moment but Di Parish deserves her time in the limelight, she is a brilliant actress and Denise is a good character.

I agree but what would people suggest for Denise? I thought she had a great 2014.

Diane Parrish has such a good range as an actor. I like it when she is working on the square and gets to interact with a variety of characters, so first off she needs decent job. I also loved her as a cougar with Fats....so maybe she could keep Martin happy while Stacey is making up her mind.

I'd quite like to see Denise's alcoholism revisited. She was on a slippery slope with it last year and it would be interesting to see her go further into that. It would also mean Kim and Shirley stepping up to help Denise, like she has helped them. Di Parish would excel as well, it's such a shame that the storyline ended before it properly began. I also loved cougar Denise!
