Rylan teases Housemate details/Rumours on ex Housemates
bb2011fan

It sounds like the Big Brother 2015 housemates could well be another typical fame hungry bunch.

Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark says that we may well have seen or heard of some before, much like with a lot of last year’s group.

But Rylan insisted that it didn’t take away from the selected wannabes making for a great line up this summer.

He revealed: “I know who is going in, I was in the room when they were selected. This year more than ever, we’ve got a real mix of people. This is the widest net that we’ve ever cast.

“We’ve got young, middle aged and older — and although we’ve got the typical stereotypes, they don’t fit the bracket they’re in. So, for example, a young, pretty girl might not be what she seems.”

Rylan admitted: “You might have seen a couple of the contestants if you really dug for them.

“But even if they’ve been in the papers or on a show before, we select them because they’re going to be brilliant housemates.”

And it seems like Big Brother has cast the housemates this year for maximum conflict, as Rylan added to The Sun newspaper today: “Some of these people are so far one way and then some are so far the other way that there’ll be no common ground.”

The Big Brother 2015 start date has been confirmed for May 12, next Tuesday at 9PM on Channel 5.

Rylan Clark has told how former Big Brother housemates could make an appearance in the new series.

The Big Brother's Bit On The Side host, who helped select the new contestants, has dubbed them the "most varied collection of people in the shows history".

And he claimed the "Timebomb" theme could see former "iconic" housemates return to the show several days at a time.

He told TV Biz: "I know who's going in, I was in the room when they were selected. This year, more than ever, we've got a real mix of people. This is the widest net that we've ever cast. We've got young, middle aged and older - and although we've got the typical stereotypes, they don't fit the bracket they're in. So, for example, a young, pretty girl might not be what she seems.

"You might have seen a couple of the contestants if you really dug for them. But even if they've been in the papers or on a show before, we select them because they're going to be brilliant housemates.

"Some of these people are so far one way and then some are so far the other way that there'll be no common ground. For this series, they're flipping time on its head so they're really going to crack up. Big Brother could make 4am the new 3pm.

"It's a little bit Truman Show - we'll control the pattern of life, we can also visit the past so they might wake up and it be Big Brother 2007 or we go back two years and I'm suddenly a housemate again for a few days.

"Nike Grahame, Makosi... what's to say they never actually left... and could be there. It's creepy."

No ex-housemates then, we wouldn't need to have 'dug' to have seen them as they've been on the show before. Looks like the usual types recruited after being highlighted in the Daily Mail online news cycle for a day.

The range of HMs ages sounds promising. They say middle aged AND older so it's clear that the oldest won't just be 40. Can we expect 60+? I love the humorous older characters. Derek was a pain but a good HM.

Here for a Science, Kemal and Makosi type hm!

I thought Derek was a terrible HM, but in any case he was only 40. I think every HM over 40 has been poor in one way or another. It must be one of the most reliable indicators that a person shouldn't be picked.

If Rylan "helped select the new contestants", remember what happened when Jamie East helped? We ended up with that nightmare Becky.

This series is sounding like it could be the worst ever. Ex HMs coming in for days at a time, HMs who've "been in the papers or on a show before", HMs so extreme "there'll be no common ground." Have they found a few more Helens, or something?

So just the usual people who've already been in the media, typical of the show nowadays

I know the old 'They don't want another series 4/The show has to evolve' will come out but jeez not another summer horror show where drama and conflict is manufactured every single day

"we'll control the pattern of life, we can also visit the past so they might wake up and it be Big Brother 2007 or we go back two years and I'm suddenly a housemate again for a few day"

Control being the operative word as we out here won't get a say on anything apart from who stays or wins, and we have to like it or lump it

Ex housemates going in telling them god knows what about the outside whilst taking the spotlight away from this year's housemates

Older housemates as usual will get picked off early as they don't 'fit in' as per usual in the regular series, and let me guess a girl will go first as usual

“But even if they’ve been in the papers or on a show before, we select them because they’re going to be brilliant housemates.”

He said more or less the same last year and look how that turned out, just seems there is little faith in the GBP who haven't been in the media and a message they need not apply ever again as it's always going to be media trained housemates which I personally think is unfair

That's the issue here, the "Helen factor", first I think "Well, they know that Helen was hated so they wouldn't get someone like thatagain", but then, SHE WON. So, it's very possible.

The Timebomb twist for Big Brother 2015 could see housemates, tasks and twists from past series make a comeback.

At least that’s according to Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark who has revealed more details about the upcoming show.

He reckons that the Timebomb theme for this summer’s Big Brother could make some housemates “crack up”.

“For this series, they’re flipping time on its head so they’re really going to crack up. Big Brother could make 4am the new 3pm,” he teased. “It’s a little bit Truman Show — we will control the pattern of life.”

Rylan explained how the show may take both housemates and viewers back in time to the BB series of years past, including the return of some former housemates.

The former X Factor star explained: “We can also visit the past so they might wake up and it be Big Brother 2007 or we go back two years and I’m suddenly a housemate again for a few days.

“Nikki Grahame, Makosi … what’s to say they never actually left … and could be there. It’s creepy.”

Speaking in the trailer for the new series, main show host Emma Willis said previously: “Days will turn into nights, time will stop, rewind, tasks will be turned on their heads.”

The Big Brother 2015 start date has been confirmed for May 12, next Tuesday at 9PM on Channel 5.

I don't want to see a show where BB does whatever it can to get them argue. I want to see things happen naturally. Look at BB9's Spitgate, for example. I don't necessarily want something as big as that to happen again, but it was a massive moment and arguably the turning point of the whole series, and BB had no input with it. The only reason it started was because Rex smudged Jen's painting. So it's proof that it can happen.

Not to mention some bright spark thought it would be fun to throw lots of cider in there, when it was obvious to everyone watching how bad the tension was

They've obviously run out of ideas. If they've got to drag back a parade of has beens performing tasks that have already been done then there's no hope for this series. We'll have seen it all before - literally.

The selection of housemates sounds promising. The issue is this bloody Timebomb theme. So many times in the past I have thought that the housemate selection is fine...the problem is that just as you get to like a housemate, they throw in a stupid twist that changes their behaviour. I want to just see them being themselves. This theme sounds ridiculous.

Plenty of under 40s that were a nightmare. Age is not the issue, temperament is.

She couldn't even handle a fortnight in there. In fact I still suspect she had no intention of staying long and just wanted material for a book. Who knows, maybe if another older woman had been picked, she might have stood up to you know who.

Rylan Clark, Helen Wood and Nikki Grahame are some of the past housemates tipped to return to Big Brother this year.

They’re the favourites to re-enter the house after it was revealed that this summer’s Timebomb theme could see the show jump back to series past, with former housemates, old tasks and previous twists all making comebacks.

Speaking about who she’d like to see back in the house this week, Big Brother host Emma Willis said: “I loved Gina and Dexter from a couple of years ago. I really liked Chris and Ashleigh from last year.

“Someone I would have liked to see more of, and I don’t know whether it would have been a good or bad thing, was Sally Axl. She was so hardcore. We may have missed out on a great housemate by her leaving after a week. That’s not saying I’d like her to go back in, but I wonder what she might have given us!

“Dexter always fascinated me, but he lasted the distance, which I was really pleased about. He is the perfect example; you think he is one thing and then this person just unravels in front of you and you realize that they are someone else.”

And as for former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Rylan, who is odds-on favourite to go back in, the Bit On The Side presenter commented: “I would love to see the likes of Nikki Grahame, Aisleyne, Makosi, Heidi and Spencer. I would love to see the core Big Brother people like Nadia.”

Bookies Paddy Power have given out some odds on who they reckon will be back and the likes of Helen Wood and Josie Gibson are favourites, along with series one contestants Craig Phillips and Nick Bateman.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “This series’ timebomb theme could be seriously explosive, and with Rylan the favourite ex-housemate to return, anything could happen.”

1/4 Rylan Clark

5/6 Helen Wood

5/6 Craig Phillips

5/6 Nikki Grahame

5/6 Nick Bateman

1/1 Josie Gibson

5/4 Brian Dowling

2/1 Heidi & Spencer

2/1 Helen Adams

2/1 Pete Bennett

3/1 Makosi Musambasi

3/1 Kate Lawler

7/2 Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace

7/2 Nadia Almada

7/2 Anthony Hutton

Big Brother 2015 kicks off on Tuesday night on Channel 5.

Yes, plenty of under 40s were a nightmare; but every HM over 40 (in non-celeb BB) has been poor in one way or another.
