What are you trying to use the cable for ?
If you want to use your tablet for internet then set your phone up as a WiFi hotspot. If you want to transfer data use Bluetooth, NFC or cloud storage. |

May have misread.... You want to use the otg for a memory stick maybe ?
You may need to root for otg. When I used to do this I used stickmount (by chainfire) from the play store. |

I assume you mean Moto G phone. I use a OTG cable and it works fine - no rooting needed. I know some people have had issues with OTG cables not working. I bought mine off amazon.
