Russian Ark features a character described as a 'strange' 'foreigner', who has a massive intellect and never seems as though he quite fits in. So I was thinking: wouldn't it be great if Doctor Who did Russian Ark as a episode and made Russian Ark a Doctor Who movie?

I have. But you appear to be suggesting that, for no readily apparent reason, a random film that has nothing to do with Doctor Who ought to be remade as a Doctor Who movie.

As I said, Huh???
While you're at it why not suggest that, I don't know, Citizen Kane, or Spartacus, or 101 Dalmations should be remade as a Doctor Who film.

I can only assume that you are still delighting us with your really terrible and utterly, bafflingly dopey ideas. Any chance you might provide one of your good ones for a change?

?
Citizen Kane, Spartacus and 101 Dalmations don't feature a character who has similar personality traits to the Doctor. Also: Russian Ark has a time travel plot where the narrator somehow ends up in the 18th Century.

Wow! Is there really any need to be so hostile?

A personal attack that is bordering on bullying

Not at all. Good natured banter that's all.
Dalekbuster has previously told us that he's trying out his ideas on this forum, and that he's deliberately giving us the bad ones first, as he doesn't want anyone to steal the good ones!
He's provided this forums with some good laughs recently, and always has something to say, sometimes good, sometimes provocative, sometimes daft.
Keep posting Dalekbuster.

In that case, I apologise

They're just jealous of our incredible ability to discuss minor plot points at length. And be sort of proud about it.

They could incorporate the Time Travelers Wife into Doctor Who...

Oh no, wait, I think they've already done that

I'm trying to do a Jurassic Park in this forum. 'Dalekbuster Park', if you will. I'm like the equivalent of the T-Rex and you're Dennis Nedry. *

*Don't worry, DS Forum Support. I'm kidding!

Dalekbuster Park eh?
A place where everyone will diss Christopher Eccleston because we all know he HATES Doctor Who fans, the brute!
A place where significant British character actors can be dismissed with a swift "well I've never heard of him"!
A place where the most ludicrous ideas will live and prosper and all the good ideas will be suppressed!

I don't want to be Dennis Nedry though (however I like the fact that his character name is a simple anagram of nerdy); can I be Jeff Goldblum's character instead? He's cool and geeky at the same time.

Aahh...is Dennis Nedry "Hello......Newman." Can't remember the actors name! Seinfeld is brilliant.

Bit off topic. Which might not be a bad thing, considering.

Edit: Wayne Knight. Course it is. How about a 3rd Rock From The Sun/Who crossover? That could be madcap and zany and stuff. Could be a film in it?

No. But it would be much more exciting if it did.

Who needs a park? We'll just get a ten second clip of a merry go round, and create an entire park from that.

Yep. I watched it today (hence the creation of the thread). It's never explained how the narrator ends up in the 18th century so could very easily be a Doctor Who story.
