Will C5 EVER revamp the exterior set?

Although it's not of paramount importance and the more funding that is ploughed into the show itself the better, but, I was wondering if Channel 5 will ever update the exterior set?

The same set has been used every single year and series since the show arrived on the Channel.

I wouldn't mind a return to a smaller crowd, for me that big screaming mob doesn't appeal all they do is boo and chant abuse, a regular studio audience would do fine in my opinion.

Do we know that they haven't this time ?

It's about the only area where they haven't spent since it came to C5. But I do agree it's something which should be looked at.

I think they should bring back the cars and the 'catwalk', however, Emma should not speak to any of the housemates prior to them entering the house as it spoils the illusion.

It would be nice to see the housemates bidding farewell to their friends and family once more as it really emphasises the gravity of the experience, for them and for us viewers.

Launch nights on Channel 5 are somewhat boring, humdrum and tedious. Emma never really seems that excited to be there and her introduction is usually dull, which sets the scene for the entire show. Marcus has far too much of a role to play also and may as well present the show himself with all that over-exaggerated nonsense, it's so off-putting.

I'm sure they need permission (from the council?) to change it and this set is contracted until 2017. I'm probably wrong but that's what I read.

I was going to start a thread about this. The crowd these days just boo for the sake of it, just stupid.

I'm not too fussed on the exterior of the building.

We are hearing that there may have been a change to the exterior set, although this isn't confirmed #bbuk

I doubt it's anything too noticeable.

Honestly what I want is for them to get rid of all the glitz and glam and flashing lights of the current set. Just the regular stage and bare stairs of the early C4 days, with a smaller crowd stood behind some barricades, booing strictly forbidden with the risk of being removed by security, HMs arriving in cars and not speaking to Emma but rather hugging their F&F and going straight into the house, no Marcus, no music being played over the entrances of the HMs.

Oops, I was rambling again!

it is the side of BB house that faces the George Lucas soundstage... there is very little room between buildings on the other sides of the BB house.... and it is a working studio, so they very limited in what they can do.

Ramble away, you're absolutely right! The only thing I like about the 'Eye' is the audio they dub over it when Emma steps out of it, that's it.

It's clear that all the lighting special effects and computer graphic imagery suffice as a 'set change' with the differing design of the eye etc each series.
