Hi

Looking to get the Roku 3, just like to get people's opinion/experience on wifi range issues. Got a Virgin dual band Superhub DOWNSTAIRS pretty much in a central location just behind TV, the Roku will be UPSTAIRS in bedroom give or take fairly central as well.

Live in a standard semi (not big), so in a straight line guess about 15-20ft between the 2, signal to go through ceiling/wood floorboards. Not sure if TV would interfere to much, it's a big LCD TV. I can probably raise the hub up a bit so would be above TV.

That's the basic setup, realise other things can effect signal, but just appreciate your comments.

Ta.

Mine is on the same floor as my wifi extender BUT I have thick stone walls between them and the connection (over 5GHz) is perfect.

It's an excellent piece of kit and the ability to listen via headphones plugged into the remote is a boon.

Thanks for that, I'll keep the option of an extender in mind. Will it still help with wifi signal if it is in the same room as the Roku, sort of like give the signal a boost, or does it need to be placed sort of somewhere between router and Roku to be effective? If extender can sit pretty much next to Roku & still give a boost that's better due to house layout.

I'm not saying you need an extender, just that I do. In an ordinary house I'm sure the Rokue 3 would be fine. You can always test the signal using a smartphone.
