Surely it'll be starting in Autumn like the rest of their shows of this nature ?

I'll give it a whirl seen as its from the team behind Arrow and Flash.

I don't know about that I think I read they want the other spin off and maybe this to air later so that way when Arrow and Flash are on brakes and finish until next season they will still be on so all year round at least one of the shows will be running.

Supergirl is on a different network so I think it's unlikely to be affected by the status of the other shows. The new spin-off might well be a good fit for the breaks in Arrow/Flash in the same way Agent Carter worked for SHIELD in the U.S.

CBS have been very bold to give it a full season. Not the intial 13 episode order.

The promo pictures just scream cheese but i am looking forward to it. I will more than likely not like it, like every other comic book show that has come out in the last 2/3 years.

I'm not sure why they 'scream cheese'? They look good to me with the subdued colours. In fact I thought that it looked better than the initial shots of the Flash costume that I thought was poor.

Diffrent network but same parent company so they don't want to go against their own show and still get as many viewers for all of them.

That is also why crossovers can still happen.

Yes but there's no indication that they will be on the same night. I'd expect them to be scheduled on different nights. It also has a full season order(?) so having it be a mid-season break or summer show for Arrow/Flash makes no sense since those type of stand ins are normally shorter run shows.

I agree it won't be on the same night.

I mean more they may not want to burn fans out with 3-4 shows a week and if/when crossovers happen you have to be upto date with them all.

Crossovers seem very unlikely. Aside from the different networks, there's the issue of Superman. It's been suggested that he will cameo in the series and does, at the very least, already exist.

For Superman to have existed in the Arrow/Flash universe for any period of time without ever being referenced at all just doesn't seem at all plausible.

Arent The CW and CBS owned by the same company so crossovers between Arrow,The Flash and Supergirl are likely

A previous poster mentioned about Superman appearing in Supergirl but I think he is referring to the fact that Dean Cain who is an actor who played Superman previously is appearing in Supergirl

I'm not that sure about Supergirl but I will give it a chance!

The two networks are owned by the same parent company so crossovers may be likely, but nobody has specifically said they're in the same universe. Maybe they'll all be in the same universe, maybe not. We just don't know yet.

It's more than Dean Cain tho, apparently Superman will appear in the pilot episode, at the very least.

Well Yuffie that is the first I've heard about Superman appearing in the pilot episode.Could you please post a link to an article that confirms that?

Or is that just someone taking the fact that Dean Cain is appearing in the show and assuming that he is going to be Superman?

I don't think anyone is confusing Dean Cains presence as confirming Superman.

Note the casting part in the middle of the page

Oh and we're supposed to get a trailer on the 14th.

Thanks for that Yuffie but the article title says it's only a rumour and if you read the article the rumour is based on a casting call for someone who has the same physical appearance as Superman

You can believe it if you want but I'm not putting much belief in that rumour as it just seems based on guess work from a website!

I wouldn't say it's a certainty that he'll show up but that's a good hint. We'll find out more soon enough I'd say.

I think it would more difficult to explain the absence of Superman for the rest of the season if he appeared in it

Wonder which channel this will be on in the UK?

I'm guessing it'll probably be Sky but I could sort of imagine ITV picking it up. Channel 4 won't because I doubt Disney/Marvel would be happy with Channel 4 showing a DC show. Channel 5 is maybe a possibility given they already show Gotham but would they go for a superhero show?

Well it's on a few websites, but that's not to say they're not all coping each other or all just jumping to the same conclusion.

Just my two cents in regards to Superman showing up. I don't think he will. DC probably doesn't want another superman on screen, no matter how small a part while the movies are ongoing. Its the same for Batman/Superman in Arrow and Flash.

What's stopping them having Henry Cavill appear in a cameo?

Nothing. But so far they have kept their movies and tv shows separate. So its unlikely.

But recently, they've also been trying to copy Marvel by having their own cinematic universe. It could be possible that Arrow, The Flash and Gotham remain their own individual universes and Supergirl and Krypton become a part of the DCCU.

Its possible. I've always said that DC missed a trick in not incorporating Arrow/Flash into the DCCU. It has a lot of potential in universe building, and not getting bogged down too much building the universe in the movies, (I think suicide squad is going to be full of easter eggs for that). When you have Arrow/Flash, Gothom, Constantine, and the upcoming Lucifer show, all separate, yet all part of DC. What makes you think Supergirl will be any different? Its important to know I'm not arguing with you, I'm just asking because I'm intrigued to know.

Well it seems that DC are keeping their TV and Film universes separate as they are doing a Flash film even though they already have a Flash TV show

Unless they have separate universes like they have in the comics that sometimes link up!
