I loved it when one of the villains said to her something like you didn't recognise Clark was Superman: how dumb are you! Of course all they do is wear glasses and tie the hair back, but it was good to actually have a character say what the audience is thinking. The name Tempus comes to mind

"Now available on #NowTV - Supergirl 1.1 for 0 days https://t.co/GVIyTJTbsH"

Looks like NowTv have put the first episode up early for a first look before being on catch up after broadcast tonight.

Great. I can watch it when I get home. I saw the pilot online but not sure if its been changed since either way I'm sure I'll like it.

Just watched the first episode and really liked it. From the trailer I wasn't sure, but I thought Melissa Benoist played the role well. It's good to finally see a female be the hero, kinda refreshing.

I just hope people give it time to find its feet. This show has the potential to be just as good as the other two.

I know it's early days but I enjoyed the first episode as much as Arrow and The Flash and can't wait for the next one. If people like the other 2 shows then I can't see why they shouldn't like this.

Watched pilot. So cool seeing her flying around, maybe it's just me. Feel same when I watch superman. I just know I'm gonna love this show.

Dean Cain and Helen Slater are her adopted parents. Nice touch.

Calista Flockhart copying Meryl Streep too much. What has she done to her face.

Not liking the muscly Jimmy Olsen who looks like he should be an NFL quarterback!

There's a long habit of actors from former versions of Superman appearing in newer ones

Kirk Alyn who played Supes in two movie serials in 1948 and 1950 had a cameo in Superman: The Movie as did Noel Neill, his Lois Lane

Both the Lois Lanes from the 1950s tv series (Neill again and Phyllis Coates) appeared in Lois and Clark as Lois' mother

Christopher Reeves, Dean Cain and Margot Kidder all appeared in Smallville

Noel Neill and Jack Larson (Jimmy Olsen) both appeared in the 2006 film |Superman Returns

Sky 1 is also in the market for Arrow/Flash spin-off, Legends of Tomorrow

Her male friend is quite camp. David Harewood. Good to see a Brit in this. And Owain Yeoman.

Both playing dodgy characters which is a surprise to absolutely no-one

Watching this again for the second time in a day, think I might actually enjoy this more than Arrow and The Flash which I wasn't expecting.

I'm glad they didn't go for a long back story and just dived into the action straight away.

Oh yes, James!! This is quite a strong pilot. They've packed a lot in but it doesn't feel rushed. Take note new Thunderbirds script writers!!

It's a bit fluffy for me like the Flash. Prefer the darker Arrow.

It's not that fluffy, but I was expecting that comment at some point.

How come this is ok to show pre watershed but there was uproar when Jekyll and Hyde was broadcast? This is much more violent than Jekyll and Hyde.

Maybe because even in this multi-channel age ITV is still one of the 4 major channels and thus the Wail and the Mary Whitehouse Brigade think there's more to be gained in attacking them rather than Sky 1

It's pathetic. The rugby match was far more violent than Jekyll and Hyde. People have turned faux outrage into a pastime these days.

Oh this bit is a complete rip-off of the bit in the Christopher Reeve film when when Superman starting reading messages from his Kryptonian father that were embedded in crystals

Like I said elsewhere on DS I have to wonder how many of the people who complained about the violence in J&H did so because they actually watched the show and how many were Daily Wail readers who had raid that "paper's" articles about the show and decided it was something they should be offended about
