I have no problems with villains being strong enough to challenge her as long as it is plausible that their powers should be able to do so. I'm not sure that a human in a suit should qualify. She's supposed to be immune to something as mundane as radiation or heat and If you hit a human with the kind of force that Supergirl has it should shatter bones and break necks regardless of how strong their armour might be.

But, it's no big deal, I still enjoyed the episode.”

I wonder if they will bring him back in the future in the comics he comes back but with a new power source which is Kryptonite I think they use Gold Kryptonite which doesn't kill a Kryptoninan but takes their powers away.
( In the early comics it made them mortal forever now the effects do wear off)

That was definitely the show's strongest episode. Great action and threat. Good character development and interesting theme in the episode.

The involvement of the DEO with the Danvers family was an interesting new thread.

I wish they didn't go all cheesy and schmaltzy at the end of every episode.

I'm looking forward to an episode where she's exposed to red kryptonite, turning her into a leather wearing, motorcycle riding, bitch.

Red Kryptonite can split the Supers into 2 people as well, cant it?

What would have more impact, meek Kara & bitch Supergirl or bitch Kara & good Supergirl?

(It might be an idea if Melissa became pregnant off screen, to use this plot device, to keep her as Kara normally & a stunt double doing Supergirl, with maybe a bit of CGI to superimpose Melissa's face onto the stunt double.)

All that thought into designing a Ghost Busters type device to catch the villain and all they had to do is chuck a bucket of water over her.

Strange seeing the episode out of order tonight, knowing what happens in the next episode

I'm confused. I thought they'd swapped a couple of eps round but not only are they in the right episode order but next week's (which should have been this weeks should it not?) carries on the theme of 'stress'. If they were the wrong way round, wouldn't we have seem the effect before the cause?

Tonight's was the moved episode, due to the terrorist like plot. You can tell by the fact that Jimmy and lane hadn't made up, yet in the one last week they went away together. Also Cat didn't know Karas parents are dead, she finds out in the next episode (shown last week). Also Kara and Sister are still trusting old red eyes, I suspect suspicious conversations between them next week.

I think they just adjusted the episodes on that link.

Assuming you have recording facilities and/or on demand why didn't you just hold back from watching last weeks aired episode until you'd seen this weeks one, that's what I've done.

So, is he J'onn J'onzz?

That's what I was thinking. They had Martian Manhunter in Smallville and he reminds me of him.

Good episode. I can see though why they delayed it given what happened in Paris. Hank must surely be MM. Unless he's some sort of robot.

Cyborg Superman.

I do think he's more of a villian.

The makers seem to have changed their minds and Supergirl may crossover with The Flash this series.

He's not done anything villainous though. I wonder if they're tricking the fans with the name and he's actually someone else.

What about their Dad he covered up his death and pretty much blackmailed him to join him.

That is not something MM would do.

D'oh! It was last weeks and this weeks, not this week's and next week's. You could have just said that

I wonder if he's going to turn-out to be a "good guy". I hope so (But having just read the rest of the posts in this thread I guess not!)

I know nothing of the DC universe except what I have seen on TV or film so I don't know all the back stories and who's who before they're explained in the shows.

If I hasn't heard about who Hank is meant to be I would have gone for Martian Manhunter too.

It was interesting seeing the development of the characters in reverse this episode. Nice use of effects in the episode.

I haven't heard anything "official" that says he's going to be Cyborg Superman only speculation so I'm with you on the Martian Manhunter identity as well.

I don't think his role with Dr Danvers and the early DEO is enough to make it obvious he's a villain and so far everything he's done has been to aid Supergirl so it would be waaaaaay too much Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawn The Flash-ish if they went down that road.

He wanted Kara as an asset to protect America. Kara's foster father said "take me instead". Not nice, but not really villainous. Doing what's needed for the "greater good".

As for the death... Well, if he died during the course of a secret mission for a secret agency, of course it would be covered up. Again, not really villainous.

We've not seen him do anything bad, but we have seen him repeatedly do good things to help Kara and the city etc. etc.

The SFX are pretty good for a TV show.

I love it when Supergirl hits something with her heat vision.
