A very interesting point - I'd like to be a fly on the wall in some of those production meetings.

I also think of all the thousands of hard-right Christians in the US when I watch these shows - are those buttoned-up parents all OK with their kids watching such 'out there' material? (Or do they all have parental blocking on their TVs?!) When there's a lesbian kiss or suchlike, my OH & I often look at each other and say, "What would Ned Flanders say?" (And it won't be 'diddly', lol...)

It's not just parents, but the show is even getting pushback from younger conservative viewers for being "too political" and "promoting agendas".

There are always people, of any age, who will complain. They used to make a fuss when inter-racial couples featured, There are probably still many that do and and find anyone who isn't white difficult to take. There may even be some who don't even like it when couples have sex before marriage! Poor dears, life must be a constant trigger.

They'd only be happy with wall to wall Little House on the Prairie (though there is nothing wrong with Little House; it's a great programme!)

Personally, I get bored if everyone on-screen is exactly the same as me, though being mixed-race means it doesn't often happen

I thought the Alex-Maggie romance might be a bit dull; essentially at heart I'm a 12 yr old boy who fast-forwards through all the slushy boring relationship bits to the plot, but it's actually quite cute and they're really well-suited. It's been done well. I think the last romance I really enjoyed on these shows was the Rosalind-Coulson one in Agents of Shield.

I'm still sad about that

Yes, it's certainly not the sort of thing I would specifically tune in for, but it turned out to be a surprisingly well handled aspect of a show that consistently serves up some of the worst character interaction on TV.

The only romance on the Berlanti shows I thought had any potential was the brief fling between Oliver and Huntress in one of the earlier seasons of Arrow. They had sort of a Batman/Catwoman dynamic going on. <batman voice>Hey, babe. Wanna know my secret identity?</batman voice>

So the 4 episodes cross over special is really just 3, because this episode so far is like a normal one with no doubt the last 5 minutes seeing supergirl joining the other heroes.

Well that was hugely disappointing. I mean it would have been an ok episode if I wasn't lead to believe it was a 4 episodes special cross over. Sorry but 30 seconds of Barry at the end doesn't warrant it being called ''4 episodes cross over''

It was a bit disappointing as a crossover but I really enjoyed the episode in its own right. It's going to be interesting how they're going to integrate all the shows, to be honest. Will it just be Flash and Supergirl in the next one or will Arrow and the Legends join in from the start?

It depends whether they are trying to make each episode work if you're not following the other shows or whether they're prepared to leave those who don't watch the others at sea for a week!

we'll probably see Flash in the last 30 seconds at the end of tonight's episode getting Supergirl, so really then it's only a 1 or 2 cross over shows and not what we were lead to believe.

Thought it would have been better if the flash came at the start and helped Supergirl instead of just teasing us with the portals. This episode was kinda let down for me because I was just waiting for the flash to turn up which was distracting from the episode.

This episode had its own title, Magenta, the episode titles for the Flash, Arrow and LOT are invasion 1,2 and 3 so hopefully it's a full in crossover.

I watched it last week, I can assure you's it's full cross over, and it's brilliant better than some films you get these days.

I thought it was a fantastic mid season finale for supergirl it wrapped a lot of stuff up and also set up the cross over perfectly Alex's coming out story has been beautifully done I've read some pretty homophobic posts people saying they won't let their kids watch it anymore, what a shame that such an important topic for millions of people can invoke such hateful comments oh well

Yes i noticed my Sky+ planner didn't pick up an episode for next week. As series link can be unreliable, I manually checked and noticed it's off air. Anyone know when it is back?

I found the Lynda Carter episode particularly heavy handed in the "agenda" department.

Why isn't superman joining the gang to fight the dominators?

Yikes, what films have you been watching? The crossover was so bad, I haven't even been able to make it through the final episode yet.

Yes, "subtle" is probably not a word that comes up often at Supergirl production meetings.

Because they have enough problems explaining why Supergirl alone couldn't have saved the day. But you could argue that Barry might not have known Supergirl had an equally powerful cousin, or she didn't think it was really a big enough deal to have to call in Superman... or even J'onn. Remember, she fights aliens on an almost daily basis.

That was better, although I hate when tv shows does that '10 hours ago' thing, one of my biggest pet hates in shows.

But I really like seeing the Flash and Supergirl working together, they have good chemistry.

Yes so do I. Its telling you what happens and basically ruining the surprise because without that we wouldn't have known when they went to rescue the president. Other than that I really enjoyed it.

I assume they do it as a teaser (seeing as that's what it's called ) for "how did they get there?" to keep you watching.

So the crossover episodes were a bit underwhelming. Watched them all (Flash, Arrow and Legends for the first time) and Supergirl may as well have not bothered going, she did practically nothing. Especially when her own crossover episode was just a couple of mins at the end of a normal episode.

So all these superhero shows have the same old cliched twenty something with super IT skills that can hack into anything in an instant. Admittedly Felicity (from Arrow I presume) is a babe who I wouldn't mind seeing do a job swap with Winn.

Overall will continue with Supergirl only as before, not that bothered about the other three shows, so in that regard they failed with this crossover ploy.

Flash is a one trick pony (they even said Supergirl is just as fast, yet not from what they showed where Flash moves so fast he can make time appear to stop for him). Arrow is a one trick pony (Robin Hood did it better). Legends are into some time travel stuff that always ends up with the paradox/changing history dilemma.

Hope they come up with something a bit more interesting, that really capitalises on each of their skills, for the inevitable next crossover.

Nice. Except, of course, that I'm sure you can "boil down" any show to make it sound rubbish. Oh, and the BIB is completely wrong.

Supergirl isn't on next week. Is it on a mid season break?
